Brief Childhood History: Simeon grew up in Edinburgh with his mother Linnette, and never knew his father in person. What he does know of his father is that he was an interrailing youth from Scandinavia, whom his mother had a brief relationship with after they met at a festival. What he also knows is that he was a Muggle, and that his mother preferred not to involve him with the world of magic or the unexpected pregnancy. As Linnette never married or involved herself seriously with men thereafter, Simeon remained an only child and tied a close bond with his mother.
Linnette was always a fiercely independant woman, raising Simeon by herself from the young age of 22, and this independancy became a trait Simeon both admired and absorbed for himself. Growing up with a single parent and no siblings, Simeon was left to himself a lot and learned to adapt to this situation. While his mother was at work, Simeon would take care of the simpler tasks around the house, before doing home school in the afternoons and evenings. This went on from he was around six years of age, and because of it he has never socialised much with children of his own age. He does not seem to take a particular interest in others, being completely disinterested in gossip, social events and the likes. However, when it came to academics he was always clever for his age, and did well in the subjects he actually tried his best at. His only problem seemed to be his selective motivation.
Aside from his mother Simeon's interactions as a child were mostly with adults, witches and wizards who were friends of his mother. He became used to mature company and dialogue at an early age and is far more used to sitting still and conversing, or at least listening to others conversing, than kicking a ball or climbing trees. The frequency at which he has socialized with adults has affected him both positively and negatively. He knows how to be polite to figures of more authority than himself, but he also tends to think himself to belong amongst them.
Simeon's mother is originally French, a graduate of Beauxbatons who moved to Scotland more at whim than anything else. And as a result Simeon's accent is a strange tumble of Scottish consonants and French vowels. Though his nature is like his mother's, his looks betray no relation to her at all. While Linnette is dark and petite Simeon is big for his age, tall and broad, with bright golden hair and pale gray eyes, and a bone structure which seems destined to grow into strong Scandinavian features.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Simeon Is a thorough person who is able to give his full attentio to what he does, so he is likely to excel at subjects like Charms and Transfiguration. He is always precise in his works and is annoyed by reckless behaviour. His independence is one of his greatest strengths, as he is always comfortable and capable by himself, and his self-confidence never crumbles. He is also decently intelligent, usually calm and composed and polite to his elders.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Due to lack of interest Simeon makes no effort to conquer his two worst subjects, Herbology and Astronomy. He can also be very egotistical and insensitive of other peoples' feelings due to his background as an only child. Because of this he is also used to getting his way, and although he is usually a quiet kid he can get bossy, believing his way is the right way. He is quite stubborn and adament about his decisions. All in all, he is socially callous and tends to look down on people his own age or younger, believing himself to be just a wee bit better than them.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Despite his heritage Simeon would most likely find himself at home in Slytherin. He is fiercely independant like his mother and focuses first and foremost on himself and his own achievements. He tends to show a clear disinterest in other peoples' lives and can be somewhat insensitive in this regard. He is clever and stubborn, and doesn't stop to consider what others might think of him. Although he is neither hungry for power nor manipulative, he doesn't value comraderie or loyalty as much as choosing your goal and striking at it with all your might. He never relies on anyone and can appear somewhat conceited and arrogant because of this. Though he shrugs at what is said behind his back, he never hesitates to bite back is confronted face to face.
