Brief Childhood History: Castor was born into a family of performers. His father and mother both have acts in a traveling circus. His mother is the resident psychic and his father is a magician. Both have actual magic, but they are masters at fake magic and illusion. Castor, his twin brother Pollux and his elder brother Orion have grown up in the circus environment and rarely had much structure when it came to discipline. As long as they stayed in the confines of the circus, they could do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. The other performers act as an extended family to the three boys. Castor even calls them his uncles and aunts.
Castor and his twin brother started helping out with some of the acts. They mainly handled setting up or clearing up after them. When the other acts need errands done, it usually came down to the two of them to get it done. Along with that, they were taught how to perform the acts themselves so when they became old enough, they could choose a part of the circus that they wished to work in. Even though they don’t have an act of their own yet, they do have the stage name Gemini, inspired by the celestial twins they are named after.
A lot of the time they aren’t even referred to by their individual names and called Gemini instead. Because of this the boys find spending time together annoying and often go their own ways due to their vast differences. Castor mostly hangs out with The Strong Man’s daughter Sophia. The two of them push each other to new heights and are always pit against each other in a cycle of competitions and dares.
When it came to education, they were homeschooled by various members of the circus and lived mostly through experience. Along with regular studies, Castor learned from his parents how to scam people.
His mother, who fakes being a psychic has taught Castor how to use observational skills to make eerily accurate predictions. From his father he has learned various slights of hand. Castor has so far shown more interest in more dangerous positions in the circus, such as lion tamer or tight rope walker. Although he is also fascinated with his mother’s line of work and helps out by setting up for psychic readings as often as he can.

Strengths (At least three, including Personality and Academic): Castor has always been taught to stand out. Because of that, he’s far from shy. He’s very friendly and makes an effort to be nice to anyone he meets.
He likes to consider himself brave and will not back down from a task if it could be dangerous. He is very proud of his family and strives to make his family proud of him. He’s very good at reading people. He was taught how to read body language and facial features. Because of that, he’s aware of people’s thoughts and feelings.
In general he is a good people person and can identify nearly any emotion. He can use his attention to detail to observe many things other than people. Gathering information is easy for him and he can accumulate large amounts of information to assess any situation. He will be good at Defense against the Dark Arts, and Transfiguration. When he gets to third year he will excel at Divination above all his other classes.
Weaknesses (At least three, including Personality and Academic): He’s loud, brash and overall ostentatious with all his actions to the point he’s always seeking attention. He never thinks things through as he has no concept of the future. He simply lives in the present and thus most of his actions don’t take into account the consequences. He’s impatient, fidgety, and unable to sit in anyone place for too long. Although he is very capable of reading people’s emotions, he tends to ignore them.
He considers deep friendships and relationships to be dangerous. He’s a hedonist at heart, and likes to do only things that bring him joy in the moment. Anything he deems to be connected with possible pain, he avoids. This makes him rather flakey when dealing with people as he only spends time with people when he feels they will be beneficial to him. He will be terrible at Potions, and will lack the attention span for History of Magic or Astronomy.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Castor thrives on adventure and activity. He seeks it out wherever he can. This bravery makes him a perfect Gryffindor.
