Brief Childhood History:
Leora was born in Dublin and lived there with her father for 7 years. Her parents divorced not long after her birth, and her mother returned to London. At age 7, Leora began to exhibit magical inclinations (she was making roses grow in winter with her hands), and her father sent her to live with her mother (the witch of the two).
Not caring much for the city, it took awhile for Leora to adjust to life in London. She missed her father more than anything, and, beginning to understand that her magical abilities set her apart, began to resent those abilities.
Her mother had to convince her to go to Hogwars when Leora's letter arrived for the daughter preferred to pretend she had no magic. Ultimately her mother's insistence won out and Leora made her way to Hogwarts.
Strengths (At least three, including Personality and Academic): Leora is very good with advice and lending an ear. She's a natural caretaker even though she's shy, and she's often found in the company of animals. She prefers science-based classes like Herbology and Astronomy where there isn't a lot of room for subjective interpretation -- just straightforward facts and useful applications. It takes a lot for her to become attached to someone, but when she does, she will have their back in anything.
Weaknesses (At least three, including Personality and Academic): She's got a terrible sense of direction and gets lost very easily. For the most part, she doesn't like being indoors at all -- it makes her feel claustrophobic. Leora is also a flake and forgets things quickly, causing her a lot of criticism from her mother and teachers, which she doesn't take very well. She does, however, have a strong desire to do well in order to prove that she can "take care of herself".
Despite her strong friendships with very few, she is extremely shy and terrible at making the "first move" so to speak. Leora has to struggle to reach outside her comfort zone. Because of her desire for straightforward subjects, she's not too great with theory-heavy classes such as Charms and Transfiguration. They tend to make her zone out in class and not do too well.
Which house do you feel your character belongs in and why? Hufflepuff. Though not exactly a people-person, she values her friendships highly and is there for those who need her.
