First and Last Name: Gerald Atticus O’Connor

Bloodline: Half-blood

Hair Color: Blonde

Eye Color: Blue

General Build: Petite

Height: Average

Birthplace: Glasgow

Brief Childhood History:

Gerald is the third son of Atticus and Mathilda O’Connor. Atticus is a muggle salesman for a drug company, and Mathilda is a stay-at-home witch. She has been open with her family about her magical upbringing, but it really hasn’t been an issue until Gerald was accepted into Hogwarts. Gerald’s older stouter brothers, Rork and Bastion, have not received Hogwart’s letters and it is uncertain whether his younger brother, Litget, will follow suit. Gerald and his brothers have experienced magic when visiting Matilda's parents and their Uncle Ollie. Gerald and Ollie get along very well together because both are quiet and prefer the company of books over people.

As long as Gerald could remember, his family home has been loud, busy, and more than a little boisterous. His brothers are fond of wrestling, and his father and mother only encourage the matter. This creates a problem, since Gerald is a quiet, reserved boy who doesn't like physical contact. He often retires to the public library, where he can hide in the classic section for hours, surrounded by Tolstoy and Dickens.

Gerald considers himself far more intelligent and more suited for a special magical education than his brothers. He tries to keep a distant relationship with his brothers and father, because he just doesn’t understand them and their need for constant contact. The closest attachment he has to his immediate family is to his mother, who tries to plump him up with sweets and explain away his odd behavior as a "stage" he is growing through. She is an avid sports woman and tries her best to understand her quiet son.

Gerald hates going to public school. He does not interact with the other children and only has one friend, Douglass, who he likes to write stories with. Gerald will miss Douglass terribly, though he won’t show it. He always imagined their stories would turn into novels and they could spend the rest of their lives writing their fantasies and making millions off of them. He is not very studious, preferring to read classics rather study for bothersome tests. But he does get good grades and is never a disruption in class.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Gerald considers himself intelligent, even though he is no brighter than other children his age. He tries to remain polite at all times and may seem brusk. He is quiet, preferring to seclude himself to the library rather than play outside. And he is meticulously clean. He loathes dirt and untidiness.

Gerald would do well at Herbology because he sees plants as much more sensical than people. He likes them because they are quiet (usually) and if they didn't live in dirt he would like them a whole lot more. History of Magic will be his favorite class because he loves reading stories and history is a collection of stories. Plus, Goblin Wars are a fertile ground for story writing. And finally, Potions would be a great subject for Gerald because it involves careful reading and reminds him of baking with his mother.

Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
Gerald does not understand people or enjoy their company, as a result he may seem rude or aloof, preferring to say very little if given the chance. He thinks he is smarter than everyone and tries to avoid interaction whenever possible. Gerald is also greedy when it comes to literature. He has a passion for rare books and is starting his own collection, he imagines it will one day rival his uncle Ollie's.

Gerald is not gifted with a wand. His mother was not a gifted witch, and he seems to have inherited her lack of talent. He would do poorly in classes that require practical application such as Charms and Transfiguration. Being a bookworm, he hates flying and is likely to do poorly at it.

What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
While Gerald appears to be a Ravenclaw with his love of books and quiet places. He would do better in Hufflepuff, because he would be intellectually outmatched with the eagles and he needs to learn to accept people. Being a badger could help him develop into a more well rounded character and teach him to be tolerant of other people.
