Brief Childhood History: Hex is an only child, and she enjoys life like that. Many times when her parents get back from an out of country trip, she is given many trinkets and knick-knacks. While her parents are away on these trips, Hex often stays with her older cousin, a half-blood. Her older cousin’s house (When Hex was four at the time, her cousin was twenty-two) was in fact the very place where Hex learned that she had magical abilities. Hex was simply playing with her cousin’s wilted roses that were sitting on the kitchen table. Her cousin was over at the table writing out checks. She told Hex that it would be lovely if flowers would stay alive for more than three weeks. Hex asked her cousin why they don’t stay alive longer. Her cousin was in the middle of explaining when Hex suddenly grabbed the flowers and held them tightly in her hands. When she released them, they were a beautiful bright red and looked fresh cut. From then on, whenever Hex came over to her older cousin’s house, her cousin would make an effort to teach Hex the many wonders of the Wizarding World.
One time, her parents gave her a cat when they came back from their trip to France. Her only friend, Hydrox (the cat), stayed by her side through thick and thin. When she was six, her two muggle parents died in a tragic plane crash. They were on their way to an important business meeting. Hex (and the cat, Hydrox) spent the next few years under the wing of her older cousin. Her cousin taught her much about the Wizarding World, but Hex still has more to learn, and is quite eager to move ahead in her studies. When she was eight, her grandmother gave her a violin for her birthday. Hex had never played one before, but it seems she had had a hidden talent for it. She tries her best to keep that talent hidden, but one can only try so hard...
Hex is very excited to be going to Hogwarts, and she supposes Hydrox is, too. Her cousin insisted that Hex takes her violin and music with her to Hogwarts, and even though she refused multiple times, it wound up on the train. Hex will have a fun time trying to keep her hidden talent hidden.
Strengths: Hex is very good at the violin and giving advice on everyday things to life in general. She has been through a lot in her life, so she finds it easy to come up with philosophical advice (or just advice in plain) for other people. Hex is adventurous (for she often went on hikes in the vast forest surrounding her cousin’s home), very funny, and is a Hopeless Romantic (she surrounds herself with cheesy romance novels and movies and passionately seeks her soul mate when she’s not busy studying)She excels in Divination, Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, and Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Weaknesses: Hex has a hard time being brave when it comes to things she must do for herself, she seems to find it easier to stand up for someone else when they are being bullied or motivate them in other tasks, but when it comes to herself, she fails at telling the bully to back off from her and she’s not the best self-motivator (which is why she enjoys others and their company.). She is also very excitable (she gets excited about the simplest things) and gets shy around tons of people she doesn’t’ know. She is not so good at Herbology, Charms, Arithmancy, and History of Magic.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: I feel Hex belongs in Slytherin. She's intelligent, very ambitious, and knows how to use her reasources. She writes a lot of her own music and often puts her studies first and her friendships and other relationships second. Lastly, I believe she should be in Slytherin because she extremely talented and is a very good leader.
