Brief Childhood History: Justin was born to a middle-class wizarding family in Druids Heath, Birmingham, on August 21st. His father, Tobias Lindsey, works in the Ministry. His mother stays at home. He also has has an older brother, Lincoln.
Justin exhibited magical abilities around 8 years old, when he got angry at his mother for taking one of his toys and unknowingly transfigured it into an angry spider. His parents immediately immersed him in the wizarding world. They both held the old-world belief that "special" children should only associate with their "kind", so the vast majority of his close circle were wizards. There were a few Muggle children he was able to sneak "under the radar" so to speak, by lying to his parents and telling them he was going to the library or some other innocuous task. They wouldn't even let him go to Muggle school; instead, they and several other wizarding families got together to hire tutors, and held "classes" in non-magical subjects, just so they could meet the governmental requirements for childhood requirements for education for young children. Even though his parents were like this, however, Justin personally never held to the beliefs his parents tried to force on him about how the magical blood in his veins made him better than common folk.
Justin was generally liked by most of the people in his "school", although by no means was he the center of attention. Some found his somewhat inflated ego and pride in his personal appearance to be off-putting. His good friends counted it as just a quirk of character to be laughed at. He enjoys playing sports and has a deep love for the guitar.
His parents told him about Hogwarts from the first brush he ever had with magic. He anticipated turning 11 for years. When he finally got his letter, his parents gave him the key to a vault at Gringotts where they had been putting away money for years for his schooling. He gets one yearly allowance for essentials and one for spending money.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Academically, Justin loves Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms. He has a pragmatic attitude towards magic, so these classes appeal to him. He is very ambitious; when he gets his mind set on something, he will not stop chasing what he wants until he gets it. He is also fiercely loyal to his friends.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): As far as Academics is concerned, Justin is weak in Potions and Herbology. He finds Potions ungraspable. He does not have the discipline or attention to detail required for such a precise art. He simply doesn't like Herbology. Justin can be vain to a fault (which is part of the reason he looks down on Herbology). He also has a tendency to act without thinking on occasion.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: I think my character belongs in Gryffindor because, although he is vain, he always comes through in a tight situation. He will fight for his friends and, if it came down to it, he would give his life for those he cares for. He is also impulsively brave, and although at times he displays a gross lack of logic and goes off on a whim, he is able to think on his feet well enough that he normally scrapes by. He is not magnetic enough to attract a large following, but in whatever group he is in, he ends up taking the lead.
