Brief Childhood History: Laura and Andrew Hayes were blessed with a child, whom they named Finnigan after Laura’s grandfather, on the 21st of November. Born into a Half-blood family – there was a muggle several generations back – Finn grew up aware of the Wizarding World, making frequent trips to Diagon Alley as a child. He was also home-schooled from the age five for fear he might blow something up in a muggle school as he was beginning to show signs of his magical abilities. Having said that, he was not completely closed off from the muggle world; indeed the family tried to maintain a normal lifestyle in Scotland with their neighbours, often taking Finn to see muggle marvels like the Wallace Monument or just to the park where he could befriend muggle children. These children tended to treat him well-enough, at least until he would blow something up, but he always felt a bit different especially after he recounted a trip to Diagon Alley to his best friend, Matthew, who admittedly thought Finn was a bit bonkers after that time.
All in all, the boy grew up in a magical family that welcomed the presence of muggles and thought them to be valuable in their way. They did, however, try to shield their son from any prejudice or problems of adversity he might encounter. When he finally received his Hogwarts letter, however, there was much excitement in the house and the family took great haste in getting the boy’s books and anything else he might need.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Easy-going and understanding, Finnigan has the capacity to be a skilled negotiator and listener. He tries to judge his friends on their character rather than blood-line or intelligence, often finding humour to be a key ingredient in friendship. Friendly and chatty, he is eager to learn more about the Wizarding World. Classes that he enjoys are Charms, Care of Magical Creatures, and Flying, particularly Flying. Agile with a broom, he would make a good athlete in the future. He also maintains a strong sense of self, both in his Scottishness and his loyalties to his house and friends.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Finnigan can be quite late and quite disorganized, something that contributes to his lukewarm and average marks in most of his classes, the worst ones being Potions and Divination. Additionally, he just finds it difficult to be motivated with academics as he prefers to indulge in extra-curricular activities. Despite all this running around, he does manage to show up to things clean and decently dressed with perhaps a shirt-tale or two hanging out. His principal fault, however, is an inability to reconcile things on a personal level. While very good at helping out friends, the last person he seems to be able to sort out is himself.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Either Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. Always friendly and loyal, he is kind character who holds fast to his beliefs or the beliefs he grew up with. Not the brightest egg of the bunch, he is always looking out for others, and more importantly, always looking to do the right thing.
