Brief Childhood History:
Dorian was born into a pristine family. Like his two brothers before him Dorian went to the best elementary school that money could buy. Being highly intelligent he easily stayed on top of his class. During any of his free time, he is found in the school's library or his family's study. Though he gets lonely, he is constantly pushing himself to study more as his family wants nothing less than the best. His mother and father already believe that their older two sons are the best but they refuse to have a son that could disappoint their family in any way.
Victor, Dorian's muggle father, owns a very large company that buys and sells corporations. It was by chance that he met Sophie, Dorian's mother, in a cab on the way home. Though she was plain looking and Victor held no interest in her, she had been drinking. It was in her drunken stupor that she revealed that she was a witch. It wasn't it until he saw her turn a pair of sunglasses into a lizard did he believe her. Thinking of using her to his advantage did he start to court Sophie would later fell for his charm and they married at once. It wasn't long that Sophie began to get use to high society muggle life and with the currency exchange from Gringotts, a rich society witch life as well. Her happy-go-lucky personality turned snobbish and shortly began making potions and enchanting his clients to keep her husband on top.
When Dorian's oldest brother was born, he had no magical abilities. So the family pushed him for a muggle's life, sending him to the best schools. His intelligent brother kept the best grades in school, and currently in collage where he is getting his business degree. The second son was born as a wizard and was also pushed for excellence. He went to Hogwarts where he held top scores as well as being a perfect and head boy. When he graduated, he went straight to work for their father, providing the potions and enchantments that his mother once did. Both of the brothers are heir to their father's company should anything ever happen to him. The eldest for his knowledge in business and the other for his magical ability. Together, they can not fail and the family knows this. When Dorian was born they always instilled into him, that his brothers were perfect, while he would always be imperfect and will always stay in his brothers shadows. Even though being imperfect, he was not to dishonor the family in anyway. Dorian's outraged that he would never be a star that shines on his own. He is determined to outdo both his brothers.
Dorian has never had a chance to be a kid. With him shutting himself in the library and the study, he's never had a friend. When he does talk to people, it's always adults at his family's social parties or events. He's cold and uncaring especially to people who seem to get in his way of his studies. From watching his father, he has learned that being sweet and charming normally gets things that he wants. Normally though, he only get things if he can get them himself or does without.
When Dorian finally received his owl to attend Hogwarts, neither of his parents cared, after all his brother was there before him. His parents let him know that anything he did there was nothing special and they wouldn't be impressed but just the same, he should not disgrace them.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Dorian is very independent as well as intelligent. He thinks before he acts, doing so otherwise makes him feel like he would get in trouble and any kind of trouble would disgrace his family. When he wants something, and only when he wants something, can he be charming. Academically, Dorian reads a lot. Since doing magic and knowing the theory on how to do it is two separate events, anything that could be learned out of a book, he would excel at. Astrology, History of Magic and Potions would be a few of the courses he would excel at since most of what is taught is from the text book
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): On the counter side of reading from a book, doing anything pertaining to doing magic would cause a problem for him. Transfiguration, and charms would hold a huge problem for him. He is also a loner, since he has always kept his nose in a book. This causes problems since mainly he has only talked to adults. He doesn't know how to relate to kids his own age causing him to be cold, uncaring and rude, unless he wants something. He won't do anything for someone unless it benefits him in some way.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: As intelligent that Dorian is, and as much as he strives for his education, Ravenclaw would not be best for him. Instead Slytherin would be better suited for him. His ambition to get out of the shadows of his brothers is to great. He's obsessed with seeking enough knowledge to do so, and if knowledge will not help, then power and he knows that the being placed in the Slytherin house could help him.
