Brief Childhood History: Leo was born in Dorchester, Dorset to Jason and Emily Dant. He was their first child. Leo lived in Dorchester until he was three years old. Then, his younger brother Fraser was born. After the arrival of the second Dant boy, the family moved to London where Jason had got a job in a local hospital. They lived in a small flat above a newsagents. It was cramped, and uncomfortable at times. Leo spent two years at the local primary school before his parents decided it would be best to move back to Dorset. A few weeks before they moved however, a third son for the Dant's was born – Tean. They then moved to Dorset, to a town called Wimbourne. The family stayed there until Leo was eight year old, preferring to home tutor the boys after Leo had a lot of trouble making friends and settling in to schools. Finally, the Dant family moved once more to Milton Abbas, a small village in in the countryside of Dorset.
Raised to be respectful, ambitious, and determined, Leo fulfils all of his parents wishes and his greatest fear is to fail them or his family. He tries his very best to succeed and usually does so, excelling in most academic subjects. So naturally, when Leo received his Hogwarts letter, he did everything he could to brush up his magic skills and learn about the wizarding world so that he did not fall behind at school. This desire to impress could also come from influences from Leo's grandma. She was well brought up and valued honesty, respect and helpfulness very highly, leaving Leo and his brothers to follow.
At school, Leo never really connected to other children. He preferred to spend his time sitting in a shady corner of the field, reading. However, he bonds particularly well with animals of all kinds, being very good friends with his family's dog and two cats. He also developed a great intrest in mythical creatures and obscure animals, like dragons, which was enhanced when he read up on the magical world before his departure to Howarts. In addition, the difference when Leo talks to other children, and adults is enormous. He seems more relaxed and less tense when talking to older people and adults than with children. But there have been exceptions. Leo made very good friends with one boy at school, before he left to be home schooled. He hopes to turn over a new leaf at Hogwarts, making some new friends in the process.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Academically, Leo excels at a lot of subjects, he is naturally gifted in a lot of things, but is very good at Defence against the dark arts and care of magical creatures, coming from his obscure love of dangerous animals and beasts. Personality wise, Leo is very loyal, which sometimes is on the cusp of over protectiveness, but he always sticks by his close friends and family and constantly strives to keep them safe and happy. Also, Leo is very determined, and once he sets his mind to achieving something, he'll get there. Finally, he is independent and mature, especially for his age, both academically and emotionally, not letting his feelings get in the way.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Leo has never been interested in seeing into the future (divination), coming from a non-religious family, Leo believes in science, maths and fact that it provable. None of this omen nonsense makes any sense to his brain at all. Also, Leo is not good with plants, so Herbology. In terms of personality, Leo is very secretive. He doesn't trust very many people and so usually operates alone, hiding information from almost all others. In addition, Leo can get very impatient when waiting for something to happen. Because he is so ambitious, he wants things to be done straight away. Lastly, Leo is not a particularly popular child, he likes to keep himself to himself - especially as an introvert. So being a bit distant is not an abnormality, but it is a weakness.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Leo is intelligent and inquisitive, with an eagerness to gain knowledge. This eagerness sometimes borders on nosiness and usually equals trouble. He is brave and determined, and fiercely loyal to his friends and family, defending them at all costs, which again can get him into mischief. For these reasons, I think that Leo should be a Ravenclaw, or possibly a Gryffindor if not.
