First and Last Name: Desdemona Poole, a.k.a. "Mona"

Blood Status: Pure
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Bright Blue
General Build: Average
Height: Short
Birthplace: Wilmslow, Cheshire County, England
Brief Childhood History:
Desdemona was born to Maggie and Brutus Poole of the House of Poole, an old Wizarding family who has governed the area now commonly known as Cheshire County since the time of Merlin. The Pooles once were rumored to be former Deatheaters, but no evidence was found to convict them of being loyal followers of the Dark Lord. Desdemona was the youngest and only daughter of the Poole family which consists of her parents and her two older brothers, Caius and Richard. They currently reside in a posh manor within the City limits of the Muggle Town, Wilmslow, where Desdemona was born and raised in the lap of luxury.

Mona, as her family calls her, was always a strange child. She had an icy stare that was far too calculating for her age, and a knack for words which puzzled all the adults who associated with her. Even at the tender age of four, she could already manipulate her peers (especially her older brothers) to do whatever she wanted, no matter how odd the request was. When she grew older, she coerced her parents into enrolling her in the nearby Wilmslow Girl's Preparatory School (much to their chagrin), where she gained Muggle education until the day she received her Hogwart's letter.

Apart from being strange, and highly manipulative, Desdemona had shown a particular talent for flying a broom. While watching a "friendly" game of Quidditch at a family gathering, a baby Mona crawled over to an unmanned broom and somehow managed to hover in the air. The game stopped abruptly as all players and spectators rushed over to marvel at the small girl's natural affinity for flying, much to the joy of her parents, who owned and managed a popular Quidditch team. Her two older brothers are both Professional Quidditch players. Her eldest brother, Caius, was suspended a season of play because of allegations made of him being a Deatheater; people were accusing him of using unforgivables to win games. Richard, her second oldest brother, was expelled from Hogwarts (for reasons unknown), and now attends Durmstrang Institute. Desdemona idolizes her brothers, regardless of their supposed misconduct.

Even though Mona is a fantastic flyer, she is terribly clumsy on solid ground. Often, if she is unfocused, she trips over her own feet and crashes into people who are not even remotely in her way. She can redirect a bludger, hurl a quaffle, and catch a snitch, but give her any object for her to hold while standing up, and it will be in pieces before you can say "broomstick".

Mona's lifelong dreams of becoming a Quidditch Player and future Minister of Magic are induced by her thirst for knowledge, fame, and power to do whatever she wants for as long as she wants.

Strengths: Her ambitious nature and good work ethic due to her nonstop Quidditch training with her family, allows her to do quite well in school. Although extremely clumsy on foot, she manages to keep a cool head and is very eloquent. When faced with any frightful challenges or tasks, she stays calm and collected, like if she were playing a Quidditch match she was setting her mind on to win. Desdemona will resort to lying or stretching the truth if it will keep her out of trouble, or, if she doesn't like a person. Her hobbies include manipulating others for her own gain, using her words to outsmart others or shame them if she can't stand them, and Quidditch, of course. She obviously excels in Flying and is surprisingly good in Defense Against the Dark Arts  and loves learn the subject matter therein. She also finds Divination to be a fascinating and deeply beneficial class. Mona's favorite class by far, is Muggle Studies, because of her previous experiences being in a Muggle School for several years prior to Hogwarts.

Weaknesses: Desdemona is fatally clumsy. She has a huge distaste for (and resounding fear of) any kind of animal besides her owl, Yumpfrat, who she can't help but call foul names because he leaves bird droppings in her food whenever he delivers while she eats. Hates Care of Magical Creatures, and any classes that take them down to the Black Lake... doesn't like the idea of a giant squid inhabiting the murky waters. She also can't stand Herbology due to her nearly meeting a tragic end when she wondered upon a Devil's Snare on a rare family outing to a nearby cave. Plus, anything she touches, plant-wise, dies. Her mother says she has a "Black Thumb", or whatever that means... Desdemona is also terrible at Potions, though she tries her hardest in that class.

House of Choice: Desdemona feels strongly that she should be in Slytherin. Any other House would bring shame to her family and they would disinherit her, not to mention, her brothers would never let her hear the end of it. She can't decide which would be worse.

Heya Desdemona and welcome to HPRPG~!

However, before we can sort you, there are a few things that need editing. ^^ First and foremost, all students start out as first years here, so 5'7", muscular, and broad shouldered are all a bit too big/tall for a first year. Additionally, we ask that you use one of the three adjectives given for both 'general build' and 'height'. <3

Her history is good, but I feel it locks in on one aspect of Desdemona. We're specifically looking for her childhood history- how she was raised, did she attend a school prior to Hogwarts... The Quidditch information is fine, of course, but again you have to keep in mind that she has to start as an eleven year old and, while you may feel she's good at Quidditch, doesn't ~necessarily mean she'll make the team and such. ;3

Also, not anything big, but it's a giant squid in the lake and not an octopus. :biglove:

Once you've made the above changes just swap the title from 'pending' to 'edited' and we'll continue with your sorting from there.

Thank you Tany, for the welcome!

I fixed the size issue and added a smidgeon more to the brief history.

Hopefully its alright now!

(I don't know why I put Octopus instead of suid. -_-; Sorry.)
