Brief Childhood History:
Maylène was born in Southwold, where her parents lived among Muggles and owned a fishing company. Many of the locals couldn’t quite figure out why they were so successful, but anyone with a wizarding background can figure out that they had a little “extra help.” Their lucrative fishing careers made Maylène’s parents Amelie and Guy very affluent members of the community and they were always willing to help their neighbors.
On Maylène’s first birthday Guy was offered a job in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures at the Ministry of Magic. He gladly accepted the job because he loved all types of creatures and acquiring knowledge from all sources. Amelie decided to continue with the fishing business and continued with the company's success. The Dazets enjoy fishing together for fun and are still successful in their business.
When Maylène was first accepted at Hogwarts she was very excited and nervous, just as any other young witch or wizard would be. Her father was very excited for her, but her mother was upset because she had wanted Maylène to attend Beauxbatons, as she had. Amelie still has some reservations about allowing Maylène to attend Hogwarts but knows that it is the only school she can attend. Guy fully supports Maylène’s attendance at Hogwarts.
Strengths (At least three, including Personality and Academic):
Maylène is very gifted in working with animals and is an excellent cello player and pianist. As should be assumed, she is very strong in Care of Magical Creatures. She loves to learn new things and is also an excellent student in Charms and Transfiguration. Some of Maylène's personality strengths include open-mindedness, persistence and self-regulation.
Weaknesses (At least three, including Personality and Academic):
Maylène is not very comfortable with public speaking and does not like receiving a lot of attention from others. Her academic weaknesses include Potions and Divination. Some of her personality weaknesses include indecision, perfectionism, and excessive worrying.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
Maylène belongs in Ravenclaw because she is a very intelligent individual and is always eager to learn. Education is something that she values highly because although she does love the fishing business she would like to work in a more “professional” sector of the world.
