Brief Childhood History:Rufus Grey was born in a coastal town to his muggle-born father and pureblood mother. His father was in Gryffendor and mother in Ravenclaw. They graduated Hogwarts with impressive, but not spectacular grades. THey worked in the Department Of Foreign Relations in the Minesty Of Magic for a time, but then left to raise and magical creatures on what could lously by called a farm. It was in the early days of the "farm" that Rufus was born. He was raised as a happy child and spent much of his time with the animals, flying his miniature broomstick or down on the beach. There were few other magical families in the small town and so Rufus mixed with the muggles. He spent alot of time surfing and his parents encouraged this.
Rufus atained comfortable grades in primary school but never exerted himself. His parents didn't particularly pressure him to work hard primary school, as they knew he would attend Hogwarts from an early age when usual strange things happened to him.
Rufus was the eldest of three siblings, a brother a year younger and then a sister the year below that. Both his siblings had shown magic potential and were raised in a the same enviroment.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Rufus has always been a confident child who made friends easily and could always be counted on to be loyal. He was never one for spreading rumours or letting slip secrets. If someone confided in him, he would hold their secret.
As Rufus was raised on what could loosely be called a 'farm', he has always been in the company of animals and therefore it comes naturally to him to care for them. As a result, he excels at Care For Magical Creatures. He also enjoys the excitement of combat and thus shows a flair for Defence Against The Dark Arts.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): When it comes to things that are not of great interest to Rufus, he has a tendency to let his mind wander. This occurs often during class and sometimes in conversation. He pays attention enough to know vaguely what is going on and to make appropriate sounds and somewhat affectionately calls it his 'auto-pilot'.
Subjects that require a high level of concentration without engaging interest do, naturally, pose a difficulty to Rufus. These include Astronomy and History Of Magic.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Due to his loyalty, Rufus would likely fall into Gryffendor or Hufflepuff, but his desire for excitement, adrenaline and combat places him in Gryffendor.
