Brief Childhood History:
From the minute Renée came into the world, it was clear that she was a natural leader. Her father, an Australian businessman, provided her with everything a child could ask for; however, he had very little time for her Geordie mother and it fractured the parents’ marriage. After a nasty divorce, Renée elected to live with her mother in Newcastle while spending the summers back in Sydney with her father. It wasn’t until Renée’s mother remarried to an even richer man that Renée made the choice to settle down permanently in Newcastle at the age of 9. In the span of nine years, Renée was already showing signs of a calculating and intelligent woman.
At her muggle school, Renée found herself a cult of loyal followers in a matter of days. She was the most popular girl in a school of more than 600 children, and she loved every minute of it. Living in the lap of luxury certainly made her a bit spoiled, but Renée biological and step parents alike have always encouraged her to strive towards a life of generosity and community service. Her loyal friends were always there to lend a hand as well if she requested their aid, making Renée a very valuable asset to many people. A girl who had only just turned 10 years old was showing true promise in the muggle community.
It was the letter from Hogwarts that changed everything, put a wrench in her future prospects and brought her life to a halt. No longer could she thrive in an environment where she was well known, with parents that had money, where she could steal her mother’s blackberry to make her schedule. She is now plunging head first into a world where nobody knows her name and she has no idea what to expect—what is a wand, how do you fly on a broom, and why is everybody wearing black cloaks instead of actual trendy fashion?
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Renée loves success, and she lets it drive her actions. She loves to help people, and loves when people know her name. Ambitious and adventurous to a fault, Renée is very resourceful. Her methods might not always be the MOST admirable, but they’re always well-intended. If she lived in Robin Hood’s time, she would most certainly steal from the rich and give to the poor. She particularly excels at Potions and Herbology because they allow her to be very hands on with her school work just as she was with her community service in the muggle world.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Renée can easily be blinded by her own hubris. She was raised to believe that she is the best of the best, and she has believed it for her entire life. Although she wears her heart on her sleeve and is outwardly compassionate, many people find her to be showboating more often than not. Most crippling is her dependence on money, a luxury she has never lived without. Being a middle class witch will not amuse her in the least. On the academic side of things, Renée simply has no time for History of Magic, a class she finds trivial and beneath her. If she didn’t fear the repercussions, she would probably skip the class, but she is, deep down, a stickler for rules.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Renée was selling lemonade to passersby at the age of six. A year later, she was running for “political office” at her grade school. She could fly on planes by herself, make her own dinner, and carry on intelligent conversations with kids twice her age. This yearning, ambition and self-sufficiency make her a good choice for Slytherin, but it’s her compassion and courage that suggests she’s a far better fit for Gryffindor. Renée has always been the person to jump head first into something new and uncharted. Her curiosity is fueled by an adventurous spirit. She’s not used to failure, but even that would not cripple her. Renée is all about saving face, so if she were ever to fail at a new venture, she would just aim higher next time.
