Brief Childhood History:
Courtney grew up with a muggle mother and a wizard father. Her mother, not knowing as much as she would've liked about the wizarding world, requested that they not tell Courtney about the world in which her father was raised at the slight chance that Courtney might not turn out to be a witch. At the first sign of magic though, Courtney remembers her mother and father sitting her down and telling her all about what would happen when she turned eleven years old. It was so exciting to hear all about this fantasy that Courtney actually got to participate in.
Courtney's father works in the Department of International Magical Cooperation and her mother is a school teacher. Because of her mother's connections to the muggle-world, Courtney made friends with muggle children her age. Once Courtney started showing signs of magic though, some of her friends fled, calling her a weirdo. Courtney always has a friend in her brother Hugo. Together, they learned how to ride broomsticks and often have one-on-one quidditch shootouts. She loves her the dishes her mother makes using ingredients from their own garden and enjoys helping out in the kitchen when the recipes don't require too much magic.
Although Courtney is shy, she's incredibly sincere and friendly towards others. As the school year gets closer, she gets more nervous about meeting the other children at Hogwarts and worries that she won't be up to the magical standards set for her.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): She is always looking for the good in people, as a way to try to improve herself and make what is good in others, good in herself. Courtney is incredibly patient, she doesn't get frustrated with those around her and she can be enthusiastic about things she is passionate about. Academically, Courtney will be successful in potions due to her precision and carefulness in following directions.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): She is very naive and because she looks for the good in people, she often misses the bad and puts her trust in people whom she shouldn't. Courtney can often come across as being over the top, taking her enthusiasm too far and coming on a little too strong. Courtney will struggle with Charms and Transfigurations.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Courtney does not want to be in Hufflepuff like her father. She's afraid that she won't live up to the standards set by him in that house. She believes in good and doing what is right no matter how hard it is and therefore believes that she would fit in best in Gryffindor.
