Brief Childhood History: Bentley was born on 19th of February. She and her family lived in Scotland for four years before moving to London. Her mother, Abigail Hastings nee Bennett, was a witch working for Flourish and Blotts in Diagon Alley. Her father, Duncan Hastings, was a Healer at St. Mungo’s. Both of her parents busy with work, they barely had time to educate Bentley, and Muggle primary school being out of the question, Bentley would most of the time come along to Flourish and Blotts with her mother, where she would be allowed to read books in an attempt to educate her as well as possible. This is what her childhood consisted of mostly. There weren't a lot of children around, except for those times when the Hogwarts students would do their shopping for the new year, and even if they entered the bookshop, she would often shy away. Her father was always very ‘busy and important’, as her mother would always say, so he was quite absent. Bentley didn’t really know any better, so she didn’t mind much and looked up to her father, proud of him being a Healer. From a young age she has set her sights on becoming a Healer as well and is determined to do her very best at school to make this come true.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Bentley wants to please people, especially her father, so she wants to aim as high as possible when it comes to academics, something that is very important to him. Because of this, she is able to concentrate well in class, even if the subject does not interest her that much. She doesn't give up easily, once she sets her sights on something, she will do everything to achieve it. She tries to be friendly with everyone as much as possible and has been taught to be respectful to her elders.
She excels at Potions and History of Magic (if only because most information is in the books).
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Bentley’s social skills are a bit stinted due to the fact that she spent most of her childhood in a bookshop with her mother as an only child. She's quite shy initially and won't easily step up to someone she doesn't know, but she tries hard to be friendly and make friends with anyone she meets, but tends to say the wrong things and is very bad at reading moods. She’s not good at all at dealing with criticism and will become very upset when people tell her off. Unlike her determination in academics, she gives up quickly when talking to someone goes horribly wrong.
She has most trouble in Transfiguration and Herbology (plants are one of the few things she really does not care for).
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
Bentley would be most suited for Ravenclaw. She is determined to get the highest results possible, and although she isn’t naturally very intelligent and has to work hard for this, she is very interested in learning.
