Brief Childhood History: Haley experienced both the Muggle and wizard world from a young age. This gave her an acceptance and good understanding of both worlds, but she was put in a couple of embarrassing situations at school when strange things happened after her magic first emerged that temporarily labelled her as rebellious before the random occurrences stopped happening and everyone assumed that she had been ‘coping with something at home’ and that the problem was gone. She developed patience as she had to learn to accept the misunderstandings that arose because of her mixed heritage. She looked forward to going to Hogwarts so that she no longer had to hide her magical abilities, but at the same time dreaded leaving her best friend Keith and her family.
As she cannot tell anyone about magic it will cause further problems maintaining friendships after receiving her letter from Hogwarts. Everyone thinks that her parents are sending her to a London boarding school that her mother and supposedly her older brother used to attend. Currently unbeknownst to her, her best friend Keith is a Squib. She will still keep contact with him throughout the school term through her family but hates the idea of lying to him about school activities and such. She has a close relationship with her older brother, who graduated from Hogwarts the year before she started.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Haley is very accepting of others, protective of her friends, and extremely loyal. She is a diligent worker and enjoys jogging and Muggle sports and so hopes to try flying. She will be a natural in Defence Against the Dark Arts due to the protective side of her nature. She enjoys practical activities and so looks forward to subjects such as Defence Against the Dark Arts and eventually Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology once she is old enough to select them as electives, although grade-wise she will probably not receive high in Herbology. She has always been fascinated with the idea of casting spells, although she will have to study a lot harder than others to learn the correct pronunciation of the spells in Charms when they are initially taught.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): She is very shy and nervous around people she doesn't know really well. She is scared of the older students. She is not ‘book smart’, struggles with remembering facts and so will detest and go poorly in content-heavy or complicated subjects such as History of Magic, Potions and in as the years progress Transfiguration. She is terrified of surprises and so her brother has, largely unsuccessfully, tried to prepare her for the idea of ghosts randomly flying past or the possibility of random magical explosions in class.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: I think that Haley really suits Hufflepuff. While she is willing to stand up for someone, she will only do so when she sees no non-confrontational way of avoiding the situation. Her diligent, loyal, accepting nature suggests a suitability for Hufflepuff, although if not she might be sorted into Gryffindor as she is willing to stand up for people when the situation requires it.
