Brief Childhood History: Ima is the second of three children born to Ernace and Maria Harkley. She has an older brother named Ian, who is a Gryffindor 4th year, and a younger sister named Ionna, who is nine years old. While Ima and her siblings have a very basic knowledge of the muggle world, they have been raised in a purely magical household. Their father works for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, Beast Division; namely, the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau, where he oversees a group that keep watch over a herd of Common Welsh Greens. Their mother is a former coach of the Holyhead Harpies. Over the years the parents have seemed to trade off on parental duties. When they children were small, their father was home much more often than their mother. However, as he was promoted through the ranks, Maria eventually retired and now spends her days seeing to the needs of her household and family.
Ima is very fond of both her siblings and frequently use to follow Ian around. When he went off to Hogwarts, in fact, she tried to pack herself in his trunk. When she was caught and made to stay behind, she spent much of her time making up stories about the going Ian’s activities at the school and telling them to Ionna. From this, she developed a love of storytelling, which she still holds to this day. Now that she’s getting ready to head to school herself, she’s most excited to see how like her stories the school actually is.
When she wasn't entertaining her sister with stories, she spent a lot of time playing pretend in her back yard, going on adventures with fantastic creatures and amazing people (almost all of which involved dragons, as she was quite interested in her dad's job, particularly because she was never allowed to visit him on days he was in the field). On weekdays, she would have lessons in reading, writing and math from her mother. She didn't have many friends apart from her siblings, because most of the children in the area were muggles and her parents felt she they (and thus their children) were not knowledgeable enough about the non-magical world to be able to interact on a day-to-day basis. Every so often, though, her cousins would come to visit from London and they'd have a lot of fun going adventuring together.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Her imagination is one of her biggest strengths; it has always helped her to entertain herself even when their didn’t seem to be much to do. She also has a very strong will and rarely, if ever, backs off if she has made up her mind. She is very loyal to her family and friends. She's also got a talent for gymnastics and can do up to three cartwheels in a row.Academically, she’s pretty good at potions and decent with classes that require wandwork, like charms and transfiguration.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Her academic weaknesses include astronomy and history of magic, as her mind tends to wander most in those classes. Personally, she tends to be quick to judge and because of her aforementioned strong will, it’s often difficult for her to shed preconceived notions. She also has a tendency to try to pass off her stories as truth, which can often get her in trouble. She doesn't know when to stop with the stories, either, and carries on with them well after they've worn out their welcome. She can be very energetic and not always the best at controlling her impulses, which has lead to plenty of broken furniture over the years.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Hufflepuff. She’s not particularly ambitious or studious, she tries to pass herself off as brave, but isn’t really. She is loyal, though, and sticks by her family and friends.
