General Build: Average for the most part, but he’s got a bit of a tummy (he likes sweet things)

Birthplace: Belfast, Northern Ireland
Brief Childhood History: Fergus is the second, and middle, child of Finley and Bevin Grey. Both are very academic former Ravenclaws, and Finley personally tutored his children through out their youth up until their enrollment in Hogwarts. Both of Fergus’ parents were recluses, and frequently shied away from any contact with the outside world. Fortunately for the children, Bevin’s mother (Enya) was a usual presence in the household and made sure that the children actually left the house and met other wizarding folk. On rare occasions, the children would even go “muggle watching”, one of Enya’s favorite activities.
In terms of his blood’s purity, Fergus was always taught in the true Ravenclaw way- blood lines did not affect magical ability- intellect did. From an early age, Fergus was expected to become a Ravenclaw like his parents and older sister, creating a rather stressful academic environment for him to grow up in. His grandmother was always there to soothe her up-tight grandson’s feathers after a grueling study session with his father. With all the pressures placed upon him by his family, Fergus is expected to become the next greatest wizard (since his sisters must be the best witches); leaving him very anxious in regards to his imminent enrollment in Hogwarts.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Despite his parents hopes, Fergus is not the little genius they raised him to be. However, he worked so hard at everything he had to do- his parents were fooled into believing him to be a natural academic. What Fergus may lack in intellect, he makes up with sheer determination and will. He’s very ambitious, and wants to become the greatest wizard that ever lived (even if it’s just to please his parents). Fergus is also very loving, and cares for his family deeply. He’ll do anything to make sure they’re happy, and is fiercely loyal. Chances are, his best class will be something like Herbology or History of Magic.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Fergus isn’t naturally a good student, nor is he the brightest. His parents (and his older sister) have raised the bar for him significantly, and has resulted in Fergus becoming a bit of a stress ball. He’s constantly nervous and paranoid that something might have gone wrong, and finds it hard to relax. This is why I’m quite sure he will be miserable at potions, since he’ll always expect the worst to happen. His nervousness makes him a very cautious lad, and not much of a talker. He’s quite awkward in social situations, despite his grandmother’s best attempts to make him outgoing, he’s much like his withdrawn parents. He also tends to be rather stubborn, especially when it comes to breaking rules- he’s a bit of a square most times.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Fergus, despite his parents’ wishes, is a Hufflepuff through and through: loyal, hard working, and determined. While his work ethic could make him a good Ravenclaw, I just don’t think he’s naturally witty enough to really fit in. He’d be a poser Ravenclaw, being in it just to please his parents. Nor do I really think he has the backbone or cunning necessary to be a Slytherin, however, it would certainly be his second best fit. (Gryffindor is out of the question for him.)
