Brief Childhood History: Jacob was born an only child to a Craig and Maria Westerkamp. His father and mother were both very active members of the Slytherin house with Craig being the star beater on the quidditch team and Maria being outstanding in the classroom. Needless to say, Jacob has always had a lot to live up to.
Although, his parents tried their best to mold their son into a perfect Slytherin, they believe they have failed somehow. Jacob is way too weak in their eyes, because he grew to be very kind to everyone...even muggles when they somehow found their way to him. His parents tried to relay to him that no good could come from muggles but Jacob had heard that even some muggles could become magical so he didn't really see any difference.
At a very young age, Jacob developed a few phobias. He is claustrophobic because, when he was very young and adventurous, he went into the forest by his house, crawled into a stray log when the dirt from a nearby hill caved the log in and he was stuck inside for around an hour before his nanny found him. He also has acrophobia but not because he's afraid of falling, he's freaked out by birds...he thinks one could pick him up and fly away with him...and they look gross...with their beaks....and talons......they're demons with wings......
Anyways, he showed magic at a pretty young age at around 4 when he accidentally used a floating charm when he fell from his seat during dinner. He received his letter to go to Hogwarts a few days after his eleventh birthday. His parents hope that their son doesn't disappoint them and that he starts to get back on track by being accepted into Slytherin.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Academically, Jacob is pretty awesome at Transfiguration and Charms. He is pretty good at anything that you could practice just by opening a book and reading about it. He'd also probably be good at Herbology in the aspect that he loves nature besides birds. He enjoys camping and being in nature. He is kind to all kinds of people, pure blood or muggleborn. He doesn't care if his parents wouldn't approve of his friends. He controls who his friends are and his parents can't stop that. He is a loyal friend to those that reach out to him.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Because of his fear of birds, he is extremely afraid of broomstick flying...thus it is one of his weakest classes. He also has trouble with D.A.D.A. because he's afraid of what he might have to face in the class. He's heard stories from his cousins about huge magical bird monsters that you have to slay in the class. Obviously, you probably don't have to...but...Jacob still wonders. His personality weaknesses include his phobias for birds and small places. He would be bad at Herbology in the aspect that he gets frightened at vegetation that actually moves and bites...pretty freaky. Although he isn't short or weak physically, he could be bullied easily because he is kind of cowardly and a little nerdy. Although he enjoys sports, he would be far to scared flying to try Quidditch. He's looking for other sports to try but not many are popular enough to get a whole team going.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: I think Jacob should be accepted into the Gryffindor because although he has a few phobias, he could overcome them for his friends and although it takes a lot of courage to do things like climb a tree and jump off a cliff into a lake, it takes much more to stand up to your own family and do what you think is right...like joining an opposing house.
