Brief Childhood History: Born to Donovan and Edda-Leigh Fairfax and brought up as an only child in the Fairfax manor (which Claire lovingly nicknamed Sherwood shortly upon reading Robin Hood because of its vast reach of forest), Claire is used to the finer things in life. Her relationship with her faraway parents has always been somewhat strained and distant, with both spending more of their time away on business (a family business focused on sweets manufacturing, to which Claire is currently heir) than at home. Throughout her life, nannies have come in and out, and people/relationships have rarely if ever been permanent.
Though often lonely in Sherwood, Claire has a natural disposition toward being socially adept. She’s used to being queen bee of her neighborhood playground, and because of her bloated sense of entitlement and hunger for power, she tends not to foster the best relationships with friends. She’s never had a “best” friend, though she always has secretly craved one, and although she’s a social person she tends to build a wall/security net around her and has issues getting close to people. Claire has also never had a pet other than the family owl, Hattie, largely because of her mother’s hesitance to place any sort of responsibility on her daughter whatsoever.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Claire is an imaginative girl who plays equally well by herself as she does with others. She is a natural leader and is not afraid to be decisive about something. She also has a hunger for knowledge, and can often be spotted curling up with a nice book and a cuppa in the common room. Claire does exceedingly well in History of Magic, Astronomy, and Potions because of her tendency toward academic thinking.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Claire is extremely selfish and self-absorbed, struggles with getting close to others, and often has trouble empathizing. Her upbringing as the only child in a wealthy household has left her with quite the ego and entitlement complex. In all honesty, though she longs for a pet of her own, Claire is also not incredibly responsible. She tends to automatically delegate responsibility to others rather than deal with it herself. Academically, Claire struggles with wandwork and is therefore less than stellar in Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Transfigurations.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Slytherin. At the end of the day Claire is an intense, fierce person, who strives for the best and nothing less. Always. She has made friends easily in the past, but she has no qualms with stepping on toes (or stabbing backs) to get what she wants. She is intelligent, driven, and knows what she wants when she wants it.
