Brief Childhood History:
Viktoria was the second child of Henrich Ostheim and Alexandra Ravensdale. Her father was born in Germany, and her mother in Britain. After they married, they lived in Weimar, Germany, where Alexandra adapted to the German culture well. However, after their first child was born, they settled in East Sussex, England. Alexandra wanted to raise the children closer to her family, so it was in England that Viktoria and her younger brother were born. Both the Ostheim and Ravensdale families take great pride in their pureblood heritage; so naturally, the marriage between Hilde and Alexander was met with great approval. The Ravensdale family has also taken pride in having every member of its lineage being sorted into Slytherin (with the exception of one of Alexandra’s cousin, a Hufflepuff, who has since been disowned by the family).
Viktoria led a relatively uneventful childhood, with the exception of her older brother’s influence. Her brother, who is six years her senior, inherited the family’s view of pureblood superiority. He made his opinions on it apparent in a rather physical way towards some muggles one evening, after having a bit too much to drink. After the incident, he was sent to live with relatives in Germany, and continue his schooling there.
Otherwise, the Ostheim family dynamic was quite normal. Viktoria’s father worked for the Ministry of Magic, and her mother stayed at home with the children, as Alexander’s income was substantial. At Henrich’s strict insistence, all three children were raised speaking German before English, and Viktoria has a mild German accent. Their extended family was quite large in both Britain and Germany, so Viktoria grew up in a supportive environment, and often travelled to Germany. Her mother made every effort to provide her children with as much magical knowledge as possible, in order to prepare them for their future schooling. After receiving her Hogwarts letter, Viktoria’s interest in magic has peaked, and she’s been devouring her textbooks in anticipation of the coming school year.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Viktoria can be very ambitious, and can succeed in the majority of things she puts effort into. Academically speaking, if Viktoria feels a class is useful, she will excel in it. Any class she feels to be “real” magic, she will devote her time to. She would do well in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, and Potions. Though she may have some slight issues with anger, she is generally able to exact excruciating self-control over herself when she is angry. This ability allows her to respond verbally to most confrontation, instead of physically, which is a quality her older brother lacked. She’s also quite quick witted, and this verbal response to confrontation often results in the offender receiving quite the tongue-lashing.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
In being very ambitious, she will use any almost means to achieve her ends. The exception to this is academic cheating, as she feels that is “how mudbloods manage to pass their OWLs”. A pureblood such as herself would never stoop to that level. She lacks empathy, and doesn’t care if people get hurt for her to achieve what she wants to. She’s somewhat narcissistic. Viktoria also tends to overreact when things don’t go her way, or people irritate her. For the most part, however, a calm exterior masks this overreaction until she manages to find some way to exact her revenge. She rarely flies off the handle.
There are some classes Viktoria finds useless, for example, Astronomy and Care of Magical Creatures, and her grades will reflect her attitude. In those types of classes, she would only put in enough effort to pass. She also hates Herbology, as sticking her hands in pots full of dirt isn’t exactly her forte.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
Slytherin. Viktoria is ambitious, and can be ruthless in that ambition. Not to mention, anything else would be met with the extreme disdain of her family.
