Brief Childhood History: Guienvere King was born on Valentine’s Day, in a small mansion in Cotswold. Born to Rose and Liam King, Guinevere was, for the most part of her childhood, raised by a series of different nannies. Isolated from her father who was often away on business, none of which he told the family, Guinevere’s limited interactions with her father simply left her feeling bored. Liam, it seemed, did not want a child but someone to carry on his beliefs and he impressed them on his daughter at a young age. He cared for the girl but did not know how to comfort her other than to buy her something with the many galleons he had stored. Rose, on the other hand, tried to be as caring of a mother as she could be. But young and only in her twenties, Guinevere was merely an inconvenience that interrupted her mother’s social life. Rose was not designed to be a mother. Guinevere grew up in a wizarding community and had limited interaction with the neighborhood children. Her parents screened her friends and Guinevere was happy that they did. At this young age, she thought the Muggles were evil. Often, however, when children weren’t over for play dates, she was left with only the companionship of her cat Cole.
When Guinevere became old enough for proper schooling, she was home-schooled. Liam felt that sending her to a Muggle school would ruin his precious daughter’s mind. Guinevere grew close to her teacher and they developed a close bond. It was through the young teacher that she learned of the intricacies of the Muggle world. When Guinevere received her letter to Hogwarts at the age of eleven, Guinevere’s father laughed. Guinevere knew that her father wanted her to attend the same school in Italy that he had and she had spent years learning Italian. The school catered to pureblood children only and she was sent off to a school where she was supposed to be like everyone else. Right before she was set to enter the school, her father made a bold move and decided to run for a position high-up in the Italian Ministry. Many rumors came out about Liam’s true paternal status of Guinevere. Ashamed by the rumors and with accusations flying she might be a half-blood, Guinevere and her mother were forced to flee back to their English home where Guinevere promptly enrolled in Hogwarts.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Guinevere has a small group of friends but to those friends she is insanely loyal. Guinevere is outgoing and has often felt the prestige of being popular. Guinevere has had a host of experiences due to her parents' wealth and is afraid to try new things and new foods. Due to her parents, she has always been able to afford nice robes and keeps up with popular witch fashion. Guinevere works hard to excel at school, which one might not typically expect. She is particularly gifted in charms and transfiguration. Guinevere has a past that she is ashamed of and this past has led her to be act slightly more mature than others her age. She is slowly becoming more humble and respectful towards children her own age but has always had a deep respect for her elders. She is able to deceive them and in an almost sneaky fashion, leaves a good impression on adults.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Though she feels she is popular, Guinevere has a personality that is hard to get along with and even some of her closest friends do not like her at times. Though she is not afraid to try new things, she can be closed-minded to people that are different than her. She can not understand why they aren't the same way that she is. When Guinevere struggles at something, she completely slacks off. She finds History of Magic to be boring and would likely never attend that class. More advanced potions can be difficult for her and she doesn't have a knack for Potions. Guinevere has learned to be sneaky and secretive. People often feel they can't trust her even when they truly can. It is hard to tell when Guinevere is being fake and it is also hard to tell when she is paying you a compliment. Often Guinevere's nicest moments can leave the person feeling insulted. She comes off as rude and conceited when really, to Guinevere, she is just trying to show off the knowledge and skills she has learned so far. Her hard exterior makes her seem more arrogant Guinevere tells lies for her own amusement. Guinevere uses charm to get her way and is happy to manipulate people.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: On the surface, Guinevere would seem to be an out and out Slytherin. Guinevere is cunning and goal-oriented and works to get what she wants, regardless of the effect it may have on others. To Guinevere, there is nothing wrong with this. Guinevere is used to getting what she wants due to her the wealth of her parents and will settle for nothing less. She has let her goals lead her to a sometimes empty life. Still, Guinevere has faced certain struggles that most teenage girls would not be able to face. She is never afraid to speak her mind and overcomes any challenge with a smile on her face. She has an inner fire and passion, a bravery that some can not deny. Though she may be tough for her fellow Gryffindors to get along with, the inner kindness for others and bravery that Guinevere is afraid to show to others would leave both her and her classmates puzzles as to how she is a Gryffindor.
