Ursula Kempe - Approved! [H]
« on: 09 Feb 2011, 02:42 am »
First and Last Name: Ursula Kempe

Bloodline: Halfblood
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Blue
General Build: Petite
Height: Short

Birthplace: Aberdeen, Scotland
Brief Childhood History: Ursula did not come into the world alone. Her fraternal twin sister Emery was born just a few minutes before, technically making her the oldest. Their father, a pureblood wizard, swept their mother, a muggle schoolteacher, off her feet with a patented charm he'd developed during his school years. He failed to tell his dear wife about his status as a wizard right away, however, deciding it best to save it for a later date. And thus began their life together as a family. From a young age it was very apparent that Ursula was the more spoiled and bossy of the two, Emery much preferring to be artsy and free-spirited. This left Ursula to take up the role of the driven, upward-moving little girl with ambition greater than the tallest of mountains in the land. Still, she could not help but follow her older sibling around, watching whatever she did and providing running commentary (whether desired or not). School-wise she excelled in most subjects, becoming a bit of a teacher's pet in the process. She somehow managed to even collect a small group of friends with whom she regularly marched about with, developing a snooty method of addressing others who were not apart of their clique. Yes, they were not the nicest girls but were (mostly) harmless. Whenever she wasn't clumped together with them Ursula preferred to read books, host tea parties with her stuffed animals, and (despite her best judgment) tag along with whatever scheme Emery managed to think up.

Their mother began to suspect something was amiss when strange occurrences started. Clocks in the house began to tick backwards for no apparent reason and items seemed to go missing, only to then turn up in the most perplexing places. Feeling as though she was going crazy, she of course turned to her husband for support. However, she wasn't quite expecting him to reveal the truth behind his less than mundane origins. Suddenly it all started to fit together. The hours he spent away at the job he never quite told her in detail about, the fact that his parents often made the strangest comments about their chosen lifestyle whenever they came to visit, and the sudden rash of oddities surrounding their daughters. A terrible row followed, though eventually Mrs. Kempe came to accept things well-enough. Pretty soon the girls' letters arrived from Hogwarts, and after having their status as young witches in need of training made clear to them, gathered the necessary supplies and shipped out for their first year. Ursula intends to do her very best in this newfound environment. She's convinced that if she just works as hard as she usually does, she'll become the greatest witch there ever was!

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): With a knack for detail, Ursula never settles for “just good enough”. Unlike her twin, she aspires to grow up to be someone great. She enjoys being noticed and will not hesitate to draw as much attention to herself as possible. Arrogance runs deep in this one, and she is quite easily offended. She has a mind for subjects that require precise actions, such as Transfiguration and Potions. With an overwhelming amount of tenacity she goes after the things she desires, and will not stop until she has them firmly within her grasp. And despite the fact that at first glance she seems to only care about herself, she can be fiercely loyal to those who matter (like her sister, for one).
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): As mentioned before, she always aims to get what she wants. This can sometimes mean she has no problem stepping on others to achieve her goals. She also has a tendency to run her mouth to others she feels negatively about, unwilling to hold her tongue and account for their feelings. If she feels threatened or cornered (or feels as if her sister is) she will lash out impulsively, not caring about the damage until after all is said and done. When it comes to subjects she struggles with, Herbology is at the forefront. Digging around in dirt? Yuck! No thanks! And Astronomy? Forget it. Who wants to sit around gazing at the stars when something more worthwhile could be accomplished?
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Although she has the makings of a Slytherin, what with being ambitious and caustic in demeanor, her standing as a hard-working and loyal little girl vastly outweighs those qualities. Hufflepuff would certainly be the best fit for her in the end.

Hiya! Welcome to HPRPG!  :biglove: We're so glad you've joined our little corner of the role-playing world. Before we can get Ursula sorted, I need you to make some quick changes to her sheet.

In her 'Brief Childhood History,' while what you have is great, I know more about Ursula's parents than herself. Could you tell me more about Ursula? Her friends? Hobbies? Also, if you could please tone down the accidental magic, I'd appreciate it. Some is great! But it's a little bit excessive at the moment.

And, before I can get Ursula sorted, I need you to go ahead and pick which house you'd like her to be in and edit her sheet accordingly.  :biglove:

Thank you!  :biglove: After you've made the changes in your sheet, edit the subject line of your post from 'Pending' to 'Edited' and it will be looked at ASAP! =D
