Brief Childhood History: Brad was born to Vince and Sharon Johnson on June 12. His father is a professor at the London School of Economics while his mother was a stay-at-home mom. His family had acquired a small fortune by the time he was born, though they lived as a middle class family for most of the year. There were occasional extravagant trips for vacations.
When Brad was five, his family moved to a small town outside of Oxford when his dad was offered a new job. At this point, Brad started primary school. He also joined the town's football (soccer) team as goalie, and he quickly became the best player in his grade. That wasn't saying too much, though, because there was only one other boy in his grade on the team.
Brad strove to make his parents proud of him. He worked hard to make sure that he got acceptable marks in school. He was always the first one to arrive at football practice and the last to leave to try to improve. He always helped his mom around the house and played games with his dad when he got home.
About a year later, some strange things began to happen to Brad. He found that even on the toughest shots, the ball seemed to float into his hands. He could also jump to stop shots that were far to high for his short stature to reach. He never told his parents any of these things, which sometimes worried him, but it appeared that they also noticed things and kept quiet.
On the day he turned eleven, a mysterious man visited his house. The man presented Brad with a letter that had an interesting coat of arms and was called "Hogwarts." Though he did not believe it, the revelation that he was a wizard made sense. He had friends at his school, but he had always felt different, as though he belonged somewhere else.
His parents were just as surprised as he was when the news of Hogwarts arrived. After a few weeks, the shock wore off, and his parents showed support for his new abilities. They traveled with him to Diagon Alley to get his supplies and give him some money to be exchanged for galleons.
On September 1, his parents took him to Kings Cross Station in London. They told him to keep up his work ethic and that they were proud of him. Despite how nervous Brad was to leave home for the first time, those few words were all he needed to board the train.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Brad is an outgoing person that is not afraid to speak his mind. He is also very hard working, which is why he always gets above average grades in all of his classes. However, some of them take a lot of work. There are, however, a few classes that came naturally, as if he had been doing it all of his life. Flying Class was one of them. The reflexes that made him a good goal keeper in football allowed him to fly better than most in his class; he was even better than some of the purebloods that had said they had been flying for years. He was also a quick thinker, which allowed him a slight advantage in Charms, Transfiguration, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Those were also the classes that were interesting enough to keep him awake most of the time.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Brad is embarrassed about his birth, so he tells everyone that he is a pureblood. He knows that the name 'Johnson' has plenty of representatives in both the Muggle and Magical worlds, and that the numerous Johnson families provide him the cover for this lie. Although he believes that speaking his mind is a strength, some people find that characteristic causes him to be abrasive, obnoxious, and argumentative. He also has a short attention span in class, along with a lack of attention to detail. This causes him to have to work extra hard outside of class in Potions and History of Magic. He also has to work hard in Herbology because he finds plants, even the magical ones that are slightly more interesting than Muggle ones, to be incredibly boring.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Brad is a true Hufflepuff. He is hard working when he has to be. He also does whatever he can to help out his friends. Had he been a pureblood, he may have been sorted into Slytherin because he believes that being a pureblood is a sign of status in the magical world. This might be because he is new to this world and is mystified by it. He also does whatever he can to become the best, or close to it, in whatever he does. In the Muggle World, Brad did this through hard work, but now that he is a part of the Magical World, he does not see a problem in using magic on occasion to help him achieve his goals.
