First and Last Name: Constance (Connie) Jane Prior

Bloodline: Muggleborn
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
General Build: Petite
Height: Average

Birthplace: Leeds, England
Brief Childhood History: Connie has two older sisters—Elizabeth Anne and Simone Amelia, who are 6 years older and 4 years older respectively. She was born to Margaret and Geoffrey Prior, school sweethearts who married young, much to the disapproval of their families. However, when Connie was only three years old, her father was killed in a car accident on his way to work, leaving her mother with three young children to care for.

Margaret’s older brother helped as he could, working around his sister’s fierce pride, with birthday gifts, babysitting and passing on the outgrown clothing of his own daughters. Connie’s never much cared for her two cousins, but she adores her Aunt and Uncle and is fiercely fond (and protective) of her little family. She is extremely close to her sisters despite their age differences—the reserved one, the temperamental one and the imaginative one. Elizabeth and Simone have always (well, usually) been willing to indulge their little sister in games of make believe, defended her as they could, and encouraged her.

She is equally as close to her mother, who’s been the willing reader (or victim) of Connie’s literary efforts as long as she’s been writing.
Growing up for Connie was an interesting mixture of exuberantly tagging along after her sisters and their friends, avoiding her cousins, and spending hours engrossed in stories, whether reading or writing. She has a few close friends from school, but her quirks and exuberance put some people off. Not that she’s ever noticed.
When her letter for Hogwarts came, Connie’s family was dazed and dubious. Connie, on the other hand, was triumphant and over the moon. She’d always told them that magic was real—it said so in her fairytale books!

Strengths: Connie has a rampageous imagination. She’s constantly bubbling with ideas, some plausible or interesting, others...not so much. She’s been writing stories since she first learned how to print, and will eagerly share them with anyone who shows the slightest bit of interest. She’s brimming with characters, some of whom she’s had for nearly her entire life, and have been accused of being “imaginary friends.” She has an insatiable desire to know things and is extremely single-minded at times. “Determined” would be the positive way of saying this. Connie’s an exuberant, friendly girl with an intense sense of loyalty, to her family in particular, and to a slightly lesser extent those who she has decreed are friends. Her friendliness, admittedly, can be a bit overwhelming but in general she’s warm and open to new people.
Connie makes up her mind easily but once she has, little can change it. She’s very difficult to deter or embarrass, and is an unswayable optimist. She’s idealistic, especially when it comes to ‘true love’ most of which she’s gleaned from her adored fairytale books.
She’ll likely do well in courses like Charms and Transfiguration where she can engage fully.

Weaknesses : Connie has a tendency to have an overly idealistic view of how things should be, and sometimes convinces herself that they’re true. She can be rather gullible. She retreats to her fairytale notions of life when she’s stressed and has a very difficult time acknowledging when she has a problem, or she needs help, in part because of her stubborn optimism.
She sometimes can get a bit caught up in her wild imagination and can be rather difficult to suppress. When she gets excited she’s practically impossible to contain, bouncing off the walls, chattering a million miles a minute.
Connie has virtually no sense of self-preservation. She’ll say anything, to anybody. She cannot keep a secret (not without great difficulty on her part, anyways) and she has no idea how to hold her tongue in the case of strong emotions. She cannot hide her feelings very well at all.
She also has a regrettable tendency to act on impulse, charging into situations without a second thought...or a first, for that matter. Conneie’s blithe confidence in ‘making it up as she goes’ does not always turn out in her favour. She won’t do well in classes such as Potions, which relies on following specific instructions, or History of Magic, which involves sitting still and listening.

What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Hufflepuff, as a result of her intense loyalty, exuberance and friendliness.
