Lucy Whitters - Approved [H]
« on: 30 Jul 2010, 05:37 pm »
First and Last Name: Lucy Whitters

Bloodline: Muggleborn
Hair Color: Chestnut brown
Eye Color: Boring Brown
General Build: Short/Petite
Height: Short

Birthplace: Bristol, UK
Brief Childhood History:

Lucy is a muggleborn yet she knew of magic before she got her acceptance letter to Hogwarts. This was all thanks to her older brother who is already at Hogwarts. At first, she was fairly apprehensive at the odd things that happened around her and her brother yet she wasn’t exactly scared either, because she knew it was affecting her brother as well. When his letter came, she was very much relieved and by the time her letter came, she was just excited.

Her dad is a math teacher at the local high school and her mum works down the street at her own art shop. Their muggle neighborhood is fairly average so Lucy grew up in typical surroundings.

As children, Lucy and her brother spent a lot of time together, they weren’t like typical kids who argued with each other, in fact, despite their 6-year age difference, they were quite close. Lucy was under the belief that her brother would pretty much do anything for her just as she would for him. There was that one time when Lucy caused an accident in school with her magic and her brother had marched up and defended her from all the kids who were teasing her. She’d do the same for him, and had done so on several occasions. While his friends may not listen to a little insignificant girl like her, when he had accidental magic at ten years old, little four-year old Lucy had came up and claim that she had accidently knocked over the vase onto her brother’s friend’s head

While generally, she is a very caring child, Lucy’s still 11. She still has spats with her parents and brother, she still gets into arguments at school, and she still slacks on her homework sometimes. But generally, Lucy is a good kid.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):

Lucy is a caring girl. She’d rather take the blame of an accident than see her brother hurt. In school, she enjoys language classes and art being more open-minded than most people, another strength. Other personality strengths include the way Lucy tends to have strong morals about right and wrong, something her mother taught her. The easy way out isn't always the right way.

In Hogwarts, Lucy would probably enjoy charms or astronomy the most and thus do the best in them. Constellations are like art and just laying out on a breezy summer night and staring up at the stars is calming. Charms naturally draws Lucy in because of the way every charm is applicable in so many situations. Everything isn't just set in stone. When the time comes to select classes for 3rd year, Lucy will probably most definitely select Ancient Runes. Each Rune holds some sort of special meaning. It's like calligraphy, another form of art.

Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):

Sometimes, Lucy does too much bending backwards for others so her self-esteem suffers. Occasionally she found herself angry at the world for not caring. That was when her temper blew and while she was very sweet most of the time, when her temper got the better of her, everyone had better watch out. She once gave a girl on her street a black eye. Academically, she hates math. It was too straightforward for her. While she could understand the simple logic, she simply didn’t care for it. Thus, she found herself not trying in that class.

Also, Lucy finds herself easily upset at small things. She's too sensitive sometimes. She likes hearing positive things and occasionally, when something negative is shot her way (particularly about her art), she can get upset and angry. Even when it's something as simple as constructive criticism. But she's working on that and many comments don't affect her as they used to. At Hogwarts, Lucy's weak classes would probably include classes like History of Magic or Potions. Potions is too precise for her. There is no leeway for the amount of ingredients that goes into each potion. If just one thing is done wrong, the whole potion could explode. That sort of nit-picking and careful measuring just don't work for Lucy.

What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:

Lucy could go many ways. She has the strong loyalty of a Hufflepuff and she has the temperament of a Gryffindor. Of course, it seems that Hufflepuff would be the better house seeing as it was her Hufflepuff loyalty that brought out her Gryffindor temper.

Welcome to hprpg! :)

Before we can sort you, can you please add a little more to the strength and weakness sections, both academic and personality?  Which classes will Lucy be good and bad at at Hogwarts?  They aren't the same classes as found in muggle school.

When you've added the additional information, please also change the subject from pending to edited and we'll go from there.  Thanks and welcome again! :D
