Birthplace: Watford General, London.
Brief Family History: Scotty was born to parents Seifer and Louise Valkyrie [née Taylor] on the 19th March, in Watford General Hospital, in London. He has two older twin brothers, Sheva and Sherwood, born on the 26th November, two years above himself, who are, however, muggles, and possess no magical tendencies whatsoever. Scotty grew up in North West London, in the fairly well off area of Radlett. He spent his early childhood mixing with children he’d met through a muggle playschool – his father was absolutely adamant that he would retain muggle friendships, despite his mother’s lack of concern on the subject. Louise, Scotty’s mother, is a Pureblood, from a comparatively traditional wizarding family, who took a while to get used to the idea of her marrying a muggle.
Spending a lot of time amongst muggle children, and his non-magical brothers, Scotty didn’t know much about the wizarding world until his mother witnessed his first breach into the magical world, and quickly explained to him exactly what went on, and where he’d be going once he hit September, past his eleventh birthday. Scotty was ecstatic and yearned to be in his mother’s old house, known for its intellect and common sense, he had a nine year old heart set on Ravenclaw from the very first time he heard about it. Always having excelled quite a bit at muggle schools, Scotty received his letter for Hogwarts part of the way through his last year of prep school. All set to begin in September, he has spent a great many hours poring over the books and tomes about Hogwarts that his mother retrieved from her parents’ house, for Scotty to read.
Strengths: Intelligence, and inner conviction, Scotty gets along well with those he knows, and has a sharp tongue – even at eleven years old, he’s quick to think up a suitable comeback for something someone throws at him. He’s a great fan of Transfiguration, and has done background reading around the subject to prepare himself fully for the class when he begins at Hogwarts. Scotty is reliable, and a little more ‘out-there’ than most people would expect, in regard to the things that he likes – but he’s a very down to earth individual nonetheless, and uses his common sense to guide him in and out of every situation that he gets involved in, which is a useful tool for someone like him.
Weaknesses: Exceptional jealousy and pride, Scotty is quick to judge people and often makes a hasty decision based on something he heard previously, that consequently puts him in a difficult situation later on. Getting jealous very easily is something that has taken its toll on him as well, as he has had to learn that sharing [something he’s not overly good at, despite having older brothers] is a good thing – not being the most well-off of families, Scotty has had to fight for everything that he’s wanted, and once he has said possession, he’s loathe to let go of it. Slightly reserved, Scotty dislikes sharing personal thoughts and feelings with many people, and doesn’t often open up to anyone about what he thinks.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Ravenclaw. Despite being a very proud and jealous individual, Scotty’s intelligence outweighs his thirst to prove himself, and so would be better suited in a house that tends towards education, as opposed to one that is traditionally very cunning and sly. He has never struggled in school and has always wanted to be in Ravenclaw, due to his mother not only having belonged in the house, but having furnished him with information regarding all four houses, which provoked Scotty into deciding that the only house suited for him was Ravenclaw. His heart and mind have been set on it since he first knew what Hogwarts was, and it is the house likely to fit him more than any other.
