Brief Family History:
Duncan’s parents, Deaglan and Ceara, were completely surprised when they found out that they were having another child. Their youngest daughter, Shanna, was already in her first year of school at Hogwarts, and their oldest son, Rohan, was already graduated when they found out about the pregnancy. They had not planned on having any more children, so Dunnie was completely an ‘ooopps’! There was a lot of struggle with having a new baby because Deaglan was gone a lot with his job as an Auror Supervisor. Thankfully, Duncan’s godparents (the Cranners) were able to lend a bit of a hand with the kid. The two families had been friends for some twenty years starting with the friendship of their eldest sons at Hogwarts. Because his Mum worked teaching young (pre-Hogwarts children) and the Cranners were both in experimental charms, ickle Dunnie spent a lot of time with them and their daughter Jude.
Having two brothers and three sisters between the two families led to him being very coddled and very spoiled growing up. His father was never much around when he was little, so he spent a lot of time with his two Mums and one of his sisters (Jude). Discipline wasn’t exactly existent and definitely not consistent. So while Dunnie is very loving, cuddly, and affectionate, he can be a little unruly and has a lack of understanding of any relationship between his action and consequences. Although when he does get into any serious trouble, he gets the pleasure of looking up at two angry father figures instead of just one. But then he also get hugged, kissed, and comforted by two mums, so it’s rather a wash.
Strengths: Dunnie is a very loving, accepting, friendly, and happy kid. He’s fiercely loyal and works hard at things he enjoys. He has very strong reasoning skills when he’s paying attention, but severely lacks a lot of common sense. He is good at anything which requires activity and fails at everything that requires a lot of sitting. He’d be good at classes where he uses his wand, because it’s more than just sitting and it’s not boring like stars, dead people, plants, and mixing things.
Weaknesses: Dunnie is fidgety, hyper, and has the attention span of a pea. During his early learning years, he had to be completely forced to do homework or read. While he’s smart, most would never, ever know it. He’s the sort that doesn’t hand in his work and when he does it would be completely scribbled. He’d much rather hide than go to silly classes.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Hufflepuff because most of Dunnie’s family has been in Hufflepuff and one of his most central characteristics is how loyal he is and how much he values his friends.
