« on: 14 Oct 2011, 01:53 pm »
First and Last Name: Linden March
Bloodline: Half-blood
Hair Color: Auburn
Eye Color: Green
General build: Average
Height: Short

Birthplace: London, England

Brief childhood history:
Linden never knew who his father was, aside from the most fleeting of moments in his earliest years. From what he could gather from his mother's few words on the subject, Linden knew that he was a nice, kind man who worked for an export company before the freak car accident killed him. He cherished these fragments of knowledge, but otherwise Linden didn't give a lot of thoughts to the empty spot in his life where his dad was supposed to be. After all, the subject seldom came up, and his mother went to great lengths to avoid it.

On his eleventh birthday, Linden spotted a strange tawny owl perched on the blue mailbox in front of his mother's bookshop when he was leaving for the grocery store. It dropped a letter at his feet and then flew off. Not knowing what else to do, he took the letter and went back inside, intending to ask for guidance. After all, Mother knows best.

The first thing his mum did when she saw the letter was going white in the face. Then she turned purple. Then she turned white again. Finally, when Linden had started to rush out of the room to fetch her a chair and a glass of water, she grabbed hold of his shoulders and sat him down on the floor before kneeling down next to him.

And she explained things. Things that should have been impossible. Things Linden had always seen in his fiction books, and then she showed him some proofs that the stuff she was talking about existed. And she said something else, too: his father was a wizard. He was a half-blood, and this was a summon to a magical castle that would be teaching him how to harness his powers.

This was the short version of how Linden March ended up on Platform93/4 on September first.

Strengths: Being raised surrounded by books all his life, Linden knew his way around libraries and research very well. He was taught by his mother at the earliest age possible to be nice to everyone, because everyone wanted to be treated with some kind of respect. History was a favorite subject of his, and he didn't expect Magical History to be any different. He showed decent skills in both Potions and Herbology, but Charms was his best.

Weaknesses: Linden couldn't be expected to keep up with other children of his age group in any sort of physical exercise. Despite being a polite boy and an ideal student, Linden didn't make a lot of friends. He was a shy boy and had always been, and when he talked he usually spoke so quietly you couldn't hear what he was saying unless you really listen. He was...let's just say directionally challenged. It took him more than three days to change a match into a needle, and he couldn't tell Jupiter from Saturn.

Suitable House: Ravenclaw. Linden valued knowledge and its pursuit above anything else, and he was quick to think when the situation calls for it. He was also known for creative uses of whatever was at his arsenal to solve problems and get a decent result.
