Brief Childhood History:
Silis was born to a well-off and well educated family in Newport, England on September 29th. His father, Demetrius, graduated from Oxford, works in the Isle of Wight Courthouse. His mother is a stay at home mother, Lynn, despite having a fine education from Hogwarts, a truth which was not revealed until he was 6 years old when he showed his first sign of possessing magical ability when he was locked in the car accidentally and then appeared in his home. It was then, after being calmed from his surprised state, that he was going to be a wizard, and then later informed about Hogwarts.
Ever since his mother told him, he wanted to know everything about it, and how wonderful its was that he possessed this amazing ability, one that was not fully tapped into, and in a way, raw. His mother fortunately still had several of her books, and he began reading as much as he could. It was then he began his love for reading, for learning about his future. A year later, his parents had a second child, a daughter and named her Jessica. He was not envious of his sister by any means, but he did lose time that he got to spend with his mother, who quizzed him on different parts of Hogwarts: A History. His father, whom he was also close to, was helping taking care of his sister a few days a week while his mother picked up a part time job at a local book store. It was on these days that he would go to the books store after school and pick up more books, more “muggle” books and his imagination continued to grow. He loved mystery novels such as the Hardy Boys, and would sometimes go on fake adventures with his one friend Malcolm from down the street.
One of the not so great parts about his childhood was the school. Silis was not the biggest, or strongest, or most athletic, though he could hold his own in endurance for running, and because of these things it was hard for him to make friends. He would be teased and ridiculed for being different, for being small. He was only able to have one person he could call a friend, two if you counted his mother. But life was rough for him always on the social side, but academically he would get very high marks, even in his 3rd year of primary school when he was 8, he was put in the advanced reading and mathematics classes with a few 9 and ten year olds, and still outperforming most of them. He could hang his hat on this. When he finally got his letter from Hogwarts, is was the happiest day of his life, and was excited when he went shopping for his supplies. His mother had quite some money in her vault and Gringotts, enough to buy over his supplies 20 fold. She had always planned for this day for him, and soon hopefully, his sister would be going to Hogwarts as well. Two keynote gifts on this trip was his eagle owl, Athena, and his wand, Willow and Dragon Heartstring, 10 inches.
Strengths (At least three, including Personality and Academic):
Silis has a strong passion for literature and knowledge. He also is a curious boy who understands his limitations. He is dedicated to everything he sets his mind to and eager to see everything to the end, even if he ends up failing. Silis is rational and likes to think things through. Silis is also strong-willed and will enjoy a debate every now and then for the argument of being right
Academically, Silis is strong at Transfiguration, for its emphasis of complete determination, Charms, for its expansive limitless opportunity, and Potions, for its practically and precision for execution. (And then hopefully and eventually Ancient Ruins)
Weaknesses (At least three, including Personality and Academic):
Silis is a shy person at first, which makes it hard for him to open up to people immediately but will expand once knowing them. Silis also not very easy going or relaxed as he should be, which make it hard for him to handle stress even if he does try and think everything through. Silis is strong-willed but it is hard for him to accept criticism, which makes him immature from time to time. Silis struggles with concepts he cannot grasp, even if he tries to learn them, such as things that are not here on earth or that he can see. He believes they exist, but sometimes ignores the importance.
Academically, Silis is not very strong at Divination, due to is unformulated understanding, and Astronomy, due to its distance and not distinguishing different stars or constellations despite knowing their Greek History.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
I believe that Silis belongs in Ravenclaw. His passion and desire for knowledge stem from an active curiosity and imagination. Also, playing along the lines of “Wit beyond measure” is a goal and hope for him. He is not the strongest or the bravest, but he knows his abilities in intelligence and curiosity for adventure will present him with wisdom and experience beyond all he could ever imagine. Also, how he approaches situations is very systematic and rational, believing he can understand anything as long as he things things through. His sense of humor is very “bookwormish”, always willing to make a joke about a passage in a book or relate life to the stories of heroes and heroines of old.
