First and Last Name: Regan Joanne McCloskey

Bloodline: Halfblood (Paternal side of the family is almost entirely Muggle, though her father himself is not).
Hair Color: Ash blonde.
Eye Color: Pale green.
General Build: Petite.
Height: Average.

Birthplace: Derry, North Ireland.
Brief Childhood History: Regan was born to a very close-knit family in a hidden residence near Derry. She spent her earliest days being taught and doted on by her mother, Genevieve (an on-call healer specializing in magical herbal formulas) and father, Brian (who had spent his younger days researching magical creatures throughout Europe). Also close to her were her Muggle grandparents, Joanne and Aiden McCloskey, who were nothing short of delighted to discover Brian's magical abilities, and embraced both his marriage to Genevieve and their daughter's birth. They would spend weekends together taking trips to the countryside, helping Regan learn about and come to respect the workings of nature from both a magical and Muggle perspective. Tragedy struck the family when Regan was six, as Joanne and Aiden were killed by a group of local dark wizards with passionate anti-Muggle sentiments.

Frightened that the rest of his family would be next, Brian did as several of the other wizarding families with muggle lineage opted to do and moved his wife and daughter out to the countryside, away from Derry. What began as a humble encampment hidden in what Muggles had deemed the Magilligan nature reserve eventually grew into a small community of loosely connected weatherworn farms where wizard families who had once been frightened for their safety created new lives for themselves within the rain-washed hills and sheltered glades that had been left unsearched.

Regan would grow into an adventurous young girl under the eyes of her family and neighbors, keen to explore every inch of her hidden home, and many-acred backyard. She befriended the boys in the encampment quickly, much keener on wrestling in the mud than playing with dolls. She had a rather nasty run in with a group of girls who were slightly older than she, who spurned her for her lack of femininity the one and only time she tried to dress nicely and join their games. This, however mundane it had actually been, hurt Regan deeply, and was much of the reason she grew to be very wary of girls in the future.

Despite being hidden, many of the community members were Hogwarts alumni, so letters still came. Some parents decided to keep their children at home, worried and distrusting after having suffered serious blows to their families. Regan's parents, however, agreed that hiding their rather restless daughter was going to end up doing her far more harm than good, and made their first memorable trip to Diagon Alley to prepare her for the upcoming year. Using her knowledge of creatures, Regan chose her first owl at Eeylops, a rather fluffy and mellow eagle owl, who she named Spin.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Regan's most dominating traits are her desire for exploration, her beliefs in equality and her sense of duty. She's a very family-oriented person who considers disloyalty to be a deeply unattractive trait. She's incredibly dependable (sometimes at her own expense) and constantly inquisitive, particularly in regard to the natural world. For the same reason, Regan's academic strengths would likely lie with subjects like Herbology, where she's outside using her hands. She is rather quiet and shy, but good-natured and cheerful once she's comfortable.

Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):  While not at all unintelligent, Regan is not a very paced person, and is known to act without thinking about the consequences first, which can get her into trouble. She likes being alone, especially after having a bad day, and often prefers the company of animals to people when things get difficult. It takes a decent amount of effort to get her to reveal her feelings, which she often shakes off to prevent too much attention being drawn to her. She is often uncomfortable when meeting new people, particularly girls, so while she is a kind person, she can send cold and  misleading signals to those who don't understand her personality. Though she always tries her hardest academically, Transfiguration would completely stump Regan, as would some of the trickier Charms lessons or anything involving overly complex wandwork.

What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Though she could fit elsewhere, I feel that Hufflepuff would be the most comforting place for Regan with her shy, quiet attitude, her loyal nature and her constant dedication to hard work.
