Brief Childhood History:
Xion was born to an extremely wealthy Slytherin family in Norfolk, but that doesn’t mean she’s had a great life. Her parents have paid little attention to her in her twelve years of life. Her mother suffered a case of postpartum depression after Xion’s birth that still rages today, so she spends no time with the girl and, instead, gives the child money to make up for it. Her father, though he shows more interest and care toward Xion, also rarely sends time with her. He works for the Ministry and spends most of his time there which is why he never has time for his daughter.
Xion was born in October, giving her a late birthday in the Wizarding community. She despises that her birthday is in October, because it makes her older than most of the kids in her class. As a toddler, she befriended a snake which later became her pet, Xerana. When she became of schooling age, her parents had her homeschooled, not wanting her to have to associate with Muggles unnecessarily. She was a pretty smart kid, but always found herself lagging in areas she didn’t have interest in, such as history or biology. At the age of seven, her father took her to the Quidditch World Cup where she discovered her love for the game and her desire to become a Chaser or Seeker. She wants to be a Seeker, because it’s the player that made most effect on her. She was given the Snitch at the end of the game which is now her most prized possession. She also wants to be a Chaser, though, because that was her father’s position when he went to Hogwarts.
Xion still struggles to gain the attention and love of her parents. From this effort, she has picked up a prejudice against “mudbloods” and a strong pride in her pureblood heritage, as well as being a family of only Slytherins. Xion has grown up with every material possession she could ever want. Now, she just needs to find a way to achieve the love and affection she wants. Maybe she can finally achieve it while at Hogwarts.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Xion, once a person truly gets to know her, is determined, ambitious, surprisingly kind, loyal to a degree, and sensitive. Xion is also creative and highly enthusiastic which is often very infectious. That’s one thing people usually like most about her. Xion knows what she wants and she’ll push to get it, even surpassing boundaries at times. She’s clever and resourceful when it comes to reaching her goals. She’s also naturally talented when it comes to riding a broom. She gets it from her dad. When it comes to academics, Xion has strength in transfigurations, charms, and potions.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): The problem with Xion is that it’s really hard to get to know her, so experiencing some of her great, redeeming qualities can be rare. She puts up a wall, trying to protect herself from hurt and vulnerability. Another weakness is that she’s occasionally hyper-sensitive and has a short temper. Xion has a strong interest in Dark Magic, due to its power. With an ego the size of a planet, she loves to have it stroked and won’t take it well when it’s hit. Xion can be selfish, because of her only child, spoiled upbringing. She's also extremely prejudice, having been brought up that way. She lacks tact sometimes and her cunning and sneaky nature can get her into trouble. Academically, she struggles with herbology, muggle studies, history of magic, and divination.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
Xion belongs in Slytherin due to her ambition and her high priority of self-preservation. She shows the traits of a Slytherin, such as cleverness, cunning, determination, and resourcefulness. She has a bit of crooked moral compass and no one can ever be sure if she’s going to do the right thing or the wrong thing. She’s pureblood, something Salazar Slytherin would have admired and taken into account. She also comes from a family of Slytherins and refuses to be the first to be sorted elsewhere, so if you put the Hat on her head, she will immediately begin to think Slytherin.
