Brief Childhood History: Her parents, Monsieur Bernard and Madame Chantilly Chevalier, were both magic users and of French heritage. They two lived in Paris all of their lives and a year after they married, they decided to move to England to start their life anew. Only a year after they settled into their home in Coventry they had Juliana – a young and healthy baby girl. She proved though to be the only child the two had before Chantilly passed away from pneumonia; leaving behind a devastated Bernard to raise the child on his own.
Juliana grew up without a mother’s guidance but seemed to manage life without so. As she grew up though life with her father was difficult. He fell into a state of depression from the loss and hardly paid attention to the girl. She hardly made friends with the other children, seeing as they were mostly muggles, and learned to play games with herself. This experience molded her personality to that of a curious, shy, and creative nature.
When she was the age of seven she proved to possess magical abilities –the first time she used it unexpectedly she moved an object without touching it. Her father, though still sad in ways, was pleased by his daughter being a witch. She had her father’s help in the beginning of her knowledge of magic.
By the time her eleventh birthday rolled around she had received her acceptance letter to Hogwarts. The young girl was quite ecstatic as was her father.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Juliana is a very good listener. She tends to often get involved in the words of others and never much speaks for herself. She would rather listen to their tales than to speak of her own silly adventures. Through this she gains a valuable characteristic, the ability to repeat that of which was heard. She has a very acute sense of remembering every the smallest of details even in the things she reads or sees. It is not quite a ‘photographic’ memory but along the lines of so.
The girl also has a habit of being quite curious. She will not hesitate to ask a question (when it is her turn to speak) or find things out for herself. She will quite honestly put all things else on hold just to see where a caterpillar is headed. The reason this is a strength of hers is because in class sessions she will speak up and inquire to know more about said subject which proves to be a great study habit.
Some of the classes she is more partial too are Astronomy, Charms, and Potions.
For Astronomy she adores the fact that the stars are more than what they appear. She likes that there is more to a night sky and you can chart maps of the universe with looking through the sights of a telescope. She will often know the answers to most questions and you will find her hand raised in this subject the most.
For Charms the young girl is acquainted with it because of her mother – of whom was an excellent witch with charms. She wants to be just like the mother she hardly knew and strives to do well in this class. She has also gained a more self-personal based liking to this class.
For Potions, Juliana can’t quite understand why she loves it so. Could it be the fact that she likes to put things together to make something new? It is unknown to her. But nonetheless this class is a strong point of hers.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Being a good listener, or rather a bad talker, comes with its down falls. Juliana has gotten into the habit of being a follower rather than a leader. She will not take charge in a situation and when things get rough she will never step up to the plate. Her guidance rests in others with the constant need for approval. She will not make a decision without consulting another. Which makes things difficult in time pressed matters.
Juliana is the shy type. Though she isn’t quite on the verge of anti-social, she prefers to be along most of the time. Her heart longs for peace and quiet and she feels that with friends and enemies she cannot do a thing worth doing. However there are a few exceptional times she will open up and allow others in. Once you get past her barriers she will be less likely to push you away.
Some of the classes she utterly despises are Care of Magical Creatures, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Transfiguration.
For Care of Magical Creatures she has never been the animal type. Though their ways intrigue her she never gets too close to a cat, pig, horse, dragon, or anything of the sort. Except an Owl – the only one she can stand. So automatically this makes her loathe this class especially when it includes being up close and personal with said creature.
For DADA, Juliana can never get the hang of it. She tries her best but sometimes she finds herself lost in thought of another thing she feels is more important at the time. For Transfiguration, it is much the same as DADA.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: I find that little Juliana would suit best with the Hufflepuff house. Her mere loyalty, curiosity, and hard-working characteristics put her amongst these folk. She is also quite patient and values friendship - though she is not quick to give the latter. Plus she adores the color yellow.
