Kian McCormick - Approved [G]
« on: 14 Nov 2011, 10:37 am »
First and Last Name: Kian McCormick

Bloodline: Pureblood
Hair Color: Reddish-brown
Eye Color: Hazel
General Build: Petite
Height: Short

Birthplace: Cranbrook, Kent
Brief Childhood History: Kian was born on the eve of Halloween. He was the second son to grace the McCormick family. His father, William, was a flourishing Beater trying out for the Kenmare Kestrels before a particularly nasty run-in with a Bludger during practice forced him to decline the position. He moved to England shortly after the incident, where he met Kian’s mother, Celestine, a Beauxbatons graduate who worked as an apprentice Healer at St. Mungo’s. After four years of dating, William and Celestine decided to get married and moved into a summer cottage in the heart of Cranbrook. Following the birth of their first child a year later, a son who they named Sawyer, William received a job working for the Ministry of Magic, in the Department of Magical Games and Sports, where he would be able to converse with the Quidditch teams during lunch breaks. Kian arrived a full eight years later, followed shortly by his sister Aisling four more years after that.

While Kian was growing up, the McCormick house went through quite a lot of interesting ordeals. Between the Chocolate Frog incident when he was six (he still doesn't know how they all exploded like that), and the bubble invasion of Drooble's Best Blowing Gum when he was nine, it can honestly be said that there was never a dull moment when Kian was around. He was forever getting into some sort of trouble. What no one ever cared to realize though was the reason why Kian acted out so much. Being the middle child was fairly difficult for him. His brother Sawyer was a lot older than him and had already achieved so much that by the time it was Kian's turn, everyone told him to just follow in Sawyer's footsteps. Even if he didn't want to follow in Sawyer's footsteps. And then there was his younger sister, Aisling, the most perfect daughter anyone could ask for. She was sweet, adorable, and a downright tattletale. When push came to shove, Kian knew that he could never count on Aisling to keep a secret. (Especially if said secret involved a handful of garden gnomes, a pack of Fizzing Whizzbees, and one very mean muggle teacher that insisted on calling him "Keer-awn" instead of "Key-an" no matter how many times he was corrected.) The bottom line was that Kian acted out to get attention. The problem was that the habit of acting out stuck with him.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Kian is a very gregarious boy with a strong love for animals and as such, he’ll later on excel in the Care of Magical Creatures class. And due to his nonstop energy and strange sense of adventure, Kian will also probably do well in Flying and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Even though joining a professional Quidditch team sounds amazing, he hopes to one day work at the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, preferably in the Beast Division.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Like any other rambunctious child his age, Kian is often described as unruly. His hyperactive nature and athletic upbringing make him a little hard to handle sometimes, especially when sitting down for long periods of time is involved. He gets bored fairly easily when he’s not moving around or getting into some sort of trouble. This means that two of his worst classes are going to be History of Magic and Potions (since in spite of the fact that there’s a chance he can blow something up on purpose, there is still a lot of writing and sitting down involved with Potions).
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: While it’s definitely a tossup between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw (Because, while he is extremely bold and courageous, with a fierce loyal streak to boot, he is also quite intelligent and hard-working, especially when he puts his mind to it.), Kian belongs with his fellow lions. In the long run, his habit of acting upon pure flight-or-fight instinct at times and not fully thinking things through, if at all when loved ones are concerned, make him more fit for Gryffindor rather than Ravenclaw. His heart will always kick in before his brain does.

Heya Kian and welcome to HPRPG~!

However, before we can sort you, there's one thing that needs tending. ^^~ See, your history is good, but it doesn't really give us anything about Kian's childhood. We're looking to see how he was raised and how he grew up more than we are the history of his parents and what his parents are currently doing. Feel free to look at some approved sheets for a better idea if you need to.

Once you've made the above adjustments just change the title from 'pending' to 'edited'. <3

So I have edited the history portion and made sure to actually INCLUDE Kian's history into in this time. Sorry about that. I have a tendency to ramble and get sidetracked with certain things :sweatdrop: Thank you for replying so fast though, and for being so nice :D

No worries~ :biglove: Thank you for editing!

One laaast thing-- I'm going to have to ask that you pick between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. There's absolutely nothing wrong with him being a good candidate for both houses (I have a character who could've fit into any of the four when I started her), but since we don't pick house for you since it's such a key part of character development, I'm going to have to ask which one you feel will better suit Kian in the long run and which you think would help him best development-wise. ^^~

You know the drill with the title. <3

You're welcome for editing :)

...That was actually a tough decision. I just hope that the wording makes sense since I rambled on at some parts...again  hehe
