I'm really glad to see so many eager new members here.

There are a few things, really important things, that I need to remind you all about though, and that you
must keep in mind while posting.
Classroom Behavior-When you are posting in classroom threads, your character is actively participating in a
class. The teacher is speaking and giving instructions at the front of the room, and your character is in their seat or whatever the classroom setting may be. No matter how long it takes for the teacher to post, said teacher is
actively engaged in the class unless otherwise specified. She or he is not standing around doing nothing, and your character is not waiting forever for them to speak. Please DO NOT fodder as such. Generally when a teacher waits a few days to post, it is to give everyone a chance to get their reply in before moving on. But the class is constantly proceeding. Just because you are allowed to post in a class once per day, doesn't mean you should. xD Give others a chance to respond, and don't post unless you've got something relevant to post about.
-Chatting
will get your character in trouble! Just like it would in a real classroom. It's really pretty rude to be chatting with your neighbor while the teacher is giving a lecture at the front of the class. Remember that your character can have house points taken for misbehaving in class, or be given detention, or even made to leave the class temporarily or permanently. Of course there are always troublemakers, we get that, but remember that there will be consequences. Students
can be expelled from Hogwarts if they are a constant discipline problem. That would mean that your character would be deleted, and no one wants that. =/
-On that same note,
any inappropriate classroom behavior can be reprimanded. That includes note passing, improper attire, etc. Your character is in a boarding school in the UK. Please try to remember this.
General Behavior-Breaking school rules will be caught and punished accordingly. That includes trying to access the restricted section in the library, magic in the hallways, entering the Forbidden Forest, etc. Anything that is mentioned in
this thread. Teachers
can enter private threads when there are school rules being broken, so please do not use that as your angle for your character getting away with breaking the rules~ If you have a good idea for a plot that includes your character getting away with some rule breaking, feel free to submit a plot for admin approval and we'll try to work with you there~
-Also remember the age of your characters, and to role play accordingly. First years are still, for all intents and purposes, children. They may
think they know everything, but they do not. xD Allow them to fail and learn from their mistakes like any other child would. And of course allow them to succeed and learn from those successes as well, but please do so at an age appropriate level. There are lots of 11-12 year olds acting very adult out there right now~
Thank you for reading over this, and remember that the staff is here to help. We aren't PMing people to pick on them, we're doing it to keep the forum fun for everyone while keeping things as canon and realistic as we possibly can.

I hope you all will continue to enjoy the site, cause we sure love having you all here.
