Baird Wibert - Approved [G]
« on: 16 Aug 2010, 06:25 am »
First and Last Name: Baird Wibert

Bloodline: Half-blood
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Brown
General Build: Average
Height: Average

Birthplace: Dundee, Scotland
Brief Childhood History:
Baird was born one day too late to be a joke on April 2nd in Dundee, Scotland, but he hasn't let that hold him back much. His father, Alfred, and mother, Rosemarie (née Ackerman), raised him and his younger sister by three years, Emmaline, in a comfortable one-story, modest sort of home in Chester, Cheshire, England to be cheerful, active children that are fairly comfortable in both the magical and muggle worlds. Despite his mother's obviously magical nature (usually written off as her simply being 'a tad odd' by a few of their muggle neighbors, thanks to his muggle father's 'horribly normal' occupation as a bus driver), he attended Mill View Primary School with well enough success as one could expect from a precocious, outgoing boy who wanted to be 'a monkey' when he 'grew up'.
With both Wibert children exhibiting signs of magic at a young age (including a horribly awkward bounce on Baird's part when he went over the edge of Chester Castle's battlements), there was little doubt that they would receive their Hogwarts letters in turn. Sure enough, Baird's showed up, and with a few raspberries blown in Emmy's direction for good measure, he began preparations (including several attempts to see how long he could store bananas in his new trunk before they went bad) to attend boarding school. He is very much looking forward to shipping off and trying to scale new castle walls and hopes to be in Gryffindor like his mother was.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Baird is, for better or for worse, brave til the end. No matter the dare, no matter the consequences, he's up for it all and can subsequently pull off some rather impossible things. Though he's pretty darn familiar with failure at eleven years old, he doesn't really expect it for whatever reason, and it hasn't ever gotten him down in the past. Moral dedication and a stubborn determination to do what's 'right' are also strengths of Baird's; he tends to have a very clear-cut, black-and-white view of right and wrong and will stick to doing the 'right' thing or protecting the 'right' thing to the death. He can also tell you when a banana is exactly ripe, and he can belch the English alphabet. His strongest class will probably be Flying, with his marks meeting an exponential curve based on practical or physical assignments in other his classes. CoMC and Herbology will probably be strong seconds for him, and he's interested in Transfiguration, though it'll never be his best class.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
While enthusiastic, Baird is not the brightest crayon in the box. Though he tries hard to follow and will usually assume he's following in any given situation, he truly, simply will not get it. He also won't get that he's not getting it, and will therefore continue on blissfully being wrong. With his brave streak comes the flip side of brashness; he rarely thinks things through (much to the consternation of his parents) and has a tendency to find himself in a boatload of trouble. The words subtly and patience are also, unfortunately, missing from Baird's personal lexicon. His accent's also a bit wonky, with his upbringing in Chester, his dad's family from Salisbury, and his mum's family from the Firth of Tay, so people sometimes have trouble following his babbling. His marks will be absolutely dismal in History of Magic and Potions will require a little more concentration and focus than he is currently capable of.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
Gryffindor. If his bravery and stubborn dedication to 'what's right' weren't enough, the fact that he's got very few brains to speak of discount him from Ravenclaw, and his lack of cunning and ambition make him totally foreign to Slytherin. He could possibly be an all the rest in Hufflepuff... If he didn't have Gryffindor's specific chosen traits and his red lion's mane hairstyle he gets from drinking red bull.

And yush, I'd be willing to wait for a spot to open up. ^^~  Waiting list puhleese~ <3
