Alissa Dedrakon - Approved [H]
« on: 09 Jan 2012, 09:00 pm »
First and Last Name: Alissa Dedrakon

Bloodline: Half-blood
Hair Color: Chestnut hair color (Reddish brown)
Eye Color: Earthy, dark brown
General Build: Petite
Height: Average

Birthplace: Oxford, England.
Brief Childhood History:
My character’s childhood was lonely.  At a young age, Alissa started spending most of her time reading.  She was always really fascinated with fantasies and romances.  The fantasies gave her hope that there were others out there, in the world, like her.  They also let her know, it’s okay to be different; however, Alissa still believed that she couldn’t be the only one who was considered a freak of nature.
The romances reminded her, there are more important things in life than fitting in and belonging.  Everyone has a soul mate, someone who would accept him or her for who they were, no matter what.  Her dad, the muggle of her parents, frequently jokes around about how his daughter reads more mature material than he does.  (Alissa doesn’t read sexual books.  Just ones with more literature and culture in them.)
Alissa’s family figured out she was a witch, like her deceased mother, shortly before she turned eight.  It was two nights before her birthday, and Alissa’s father was about to tuck her in before turning in himself, when the power went out with a loud roll of thunder.  Alissa couldn’t sleep without her nightlight because she had always been afraid of the dark, (Actually, she is afraid of what could be in it, and the unknown.) so her dad crawled into bed with her for the night.  He was afraid that she would cry and tried to comfort her, before Alissa held out her hand.  There was a single flame, like a lit lighter, on her palm.  “Don’t worry, daddy.  I’ll be your light, tonight.”  Alissa cooed to him.

Strengths (At least three, including Personality and Academic):
Alissa has a few distinctive strengths, personality wise.  The first would be how trust worthy she is.  You can tell Alissa anything and she wouldn’t dare tell anyone.  The second would be how loyal she is.  Alissa will always be there for you. When you feel like you are falling apart, she will be the first to help you put the pieces of your life back together.  And, the last one would be that she never gives up.  If at first you don’t succeed, try again.
I plan on making Alissa Dedrakon stupendous in charms and exceptionally well in Herbology.  If things go the way I plan, she will actually find Herbology fascinating and cool rather than dull and boring.  However, her best subject would probably be Charms.  Alissa admires this class the most because it focuses on altering what an object does, rather than what it is.  Another reason for her fondness of this lesson is charms generally last longer than other spells, and Alissa finds that particularly intriguing.  She doesn’t have much permanent figures in her life.
Weaknesses (At least three, including Personality and
Academic):
Potions and Defense Against The Dark Arts would have to be Alissa Dedrakon’s weakest classes.  Although, Alissa does well under pressure and is good with Herbology, she has too much trouble with measuring and handling the delicate power of ingredients to be successful with Potions.
Alissa doesn’t do well with Defense Against The Dark Arts because she finds it too hard to cause any harm to another being.  It’s not that she doesn’t have courage, but she doesn’t know if she can be responsible for something that requires that much of assurance.
Alissa’s weaknesses personality wise would be she’s in love with the idea of love.  Even though Alissa is young she believes she knows the meaning of love and is quick to get attached.  The other one would be, she lets people in too quickly.
Alissa only sees the good in people, and it can be a problem.  She can’t always tell the good from the bad.  Many people may think it’s a good thing to make friends fast, but not if they are part of a bad crowd.  Especially since friends are such big influences.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: I feel my character would make for a perfect Hufflepuff because she is hard-working, fair, loyal, and patient.  Alissa is more of a loving and sincere type of person.  She can sometimes put herself down, but she is real quick to comfort others.

Hi there! Welcome to HPRPG! Before we can get you sorted, there are just a few things to attend to.

For the birthplace section, please just limit the words to the city and the country. Anything extra can go into the history section. ;)

Once you've done that, just change the title from 'pending' to 'edited'!

And I'm not sure what you mean when you say you'll be typing more from Alissa'a POV? If you mean first person, then you won't be allowed to since everyone writes in third person POV on the board, with the exception being in journals and such.
