First and Last Name: Harper Quirke

Bloodline: Half-blood
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Light amber
General Build: Petite
Height: Average

Birthplace: Harlow, England
Brief Childhood History: Harper was born in the small village of Sawbridgeworth, just outside of Harlow, to his parents Eva and Zachary Quirke. Being in such a small village gave Harper a sense of community early on. As a small child he participated in town functions, dressed up for plays, joined just about every town festivity, and thoroughly enjoyed it. As he got a little older and began experiencing books, he helped the library sort and put them back on the shelves on weekends, read at a local bookstore to younger kids once a week, and became infatuated with learning and asking questions. The town began calling him the “local bookworm.”

He was in Primary schooling, but his parents took him out after his first year to home school instead. They felt they could teach him more of the Wizarding world to give him a jumpstart for Hogwarts, and to help him in both his weak areas and strong areas, which was proving difficult for the school. When Harper didn’t enjoy a subject or learning about it, he preferred to simply ignore its existence instead, and not try at all, but focus all of his energy on what he enjoyed instead. His parents attempted to tackle this as best as they could, but they could only do so much for the hard headed boy that they had raised, trying positive and negative reinforcement did very little for Harper.

When he wasn’t reading he spent his free time with neighbors around his age, his best friend being another wizard’s child by the name of Jackson. Their fathers worked as Potioneer’s together in London. They were very close, but had very different likes and dislikes, even from an early age it was obvious. Jackson was far more outgoing and not at all a bookworm, preferring instead to taunt neighbor kids and try to cause chaos with his toy wand.

Now, Harper makes friends pretty easily, but keeping friends is usually a bit more difficult, he doesn’t always know the right thing to say, usually saying what first comes to mind, which sometimes results in insulting other kids. Overall, he pretty much likes to get caught up in books, fictional and nonfictional, and enjoys asking questions about everything that interests him. While his reading level is up there, he really only has a few strengths in what he actually knows.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Harper has strengths in several areas. He has a strong sense of unity and bond with people he is close to. He was taught to be helpful and kind to everyone, even your enemies, though some feel he isn’t always kind when he says rude things without thinking. He has a hunger for knowledge, at least that which interests him. Academically he enjoys History of Magic the most, and is good in Muggle Studies, because of where he grew up and his half-muggle heritage. He does also possess an abundance of knowledge about Care of Magical Creatures. It’s the class he is most excited to get to in his 3rd Year.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Harper has what some refer to as “word vomiting” where he sometimes says things that aren’t necessarily nice, but he feels are true, whether they are or not. He doesn’t do it so bad that it normally gets him into trouble; he controls it better around adults out of fear more than respect, trying to say as little as possible to adults, but has a problem with it around his peers. His other obvious problem is when he doesn’t find a subject interesting he has a hard time focusing and doing well in that subject. Two of those subjects include, ironically, Potions, which his father did everything to convince him to like it and failed. Harper attempted one simple lesson with his father and he produced the vilest mess he’d ever smelled, and hated Potions from then on. He also is very unskilled in Astronomy, finding it very boring.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Harper’s strengths and slight social awkwardness put him in Ravenclaw. Harper possesses a want for more knowledge and enjoys learning. He has a strange wit to him, when he isn’t spouting things to irritate others. ((I had picked Ravenclaw for him before Ravenclaw was full, so if I need to change things up I will.))

Ravenclaw house is currently closed at the moment. You will be placed on the waiting list, but if at any point you decide you would like your character to be in another house, just edit the sheet accordingly and reply here.
