Brief Childhood History:
Cain was born to two eminent doctors and researchers in Cambridge and as such, had a very scientifically based education. He was commonly being taught matters of science and about his parents' careers beyond what the school curriculum dictated. As such, during his time attending private schools within Cambridge, he showed an aptitude for science throughout his school life.
However despite this wealth of knowledge he always hungered for more, both in knowledge and something else.
He was liked at school, often due to his nature of wanting to help others even at the expense of himself. A characteristic probably owed to his parents, however this also made he deeply unpopular with those who weren’t so interested in others well being. What the teachers couldn’t often understand, was how these children often got hurt or badly injured with no explainable cause.
As could have been guessed when he received his letter both he and his parents were highly skeptical as to its integrity. However out of interest, they decided to reply and see what happened. So when they received instructions as to what to do and discovered the existence of magic to be true, their beliefs were struck to the core and as such felt the need to push Cain to go to Hogwarts.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Through experiences of often having to speak to strangers and often being at the top of his subjects at school one thing Cain is not lacking is self-confidence. He does often exude confidence and isn’t likely to be put off doing something because it is new or makes him nervous. “A bottomless pit, that hungers to be filled” is one way which Cain desire for knowledge has been described, with him often seeking new information however dark or difficult. Owing to his upbringing, he is also highly proficient in the more precise or science based subjects of Transfiguration and Potions.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
Again due to his time often being the best, he can at times look down upon those who he feels are lesser than him or not really worth his attention, this does not however inhibit his ability to help them unless he does feel that they are incompetent. Owing to poor reflexes and hand eye coordination, flying is a major challenge to Cain. He seems to automatically insult every
magical creature around him, as such care for magical creatures is for him a highly dangerous subject.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
Slytherin, why because Cain’s ambitions while not personal are to help people. The reason why this is suited to slytherin rather than Gryffindor is that the methods he favours to do so are necessarily the bravest preferring more underhand tactics to help people.
