Brief Childhood History: Ailie and Arran Wood were childhood sweethearts at Hogwarts. In fact, after their first year out of Hogwarts they were already married and were expecting their first child, a boy, Harris. A few years later and they were blessed with their middle child, Darrell. Everything seemed to be going blissfully for the Woods. Arran had managed to nab a place as a chaser for the Montrose Magpies while Ailie was very happy with running her small knick-knack shop which trailed the around their little corner of the world in a hope for buyers. They didn’t think anything could go wrong. That was until Uncle Roddy came to town. Loud mouthed and a right pain in the behind, he is still the thorn in Arran’s back even after all these years.
Darrell has had a rather sheltered up bringing. This is mostly to do with the fact that she has rarely seen a city aside from the brief visits to London with her mum to visit her grandparents. This is not to say that she is naïve, far from it after Roddy had his way and decided to inform the Wood children of what the world is really like. Being a muggle-born, Ailie wanted her children to have at least some understanding of the ‘normal’ world before they went to Hogwarts so reluctantly Darrell was sent to the very small local primary school. She made few friends there and always seemed to be singled out because she was different. They only good thing that Darrell says she gained from going to that place was learning that her head world was a lot nicer than the one she lives in.
Strengths (At least three, including Personality and Academic): Darrell has a very carefree attitude and is rarely worried by anything. She is very set on being her own person and doesn’t like it when someone goes against her opinion, even though she is right a lot of the time. She is adventurous and always up for trying new things. Darrell is also a bit of a bookworm. Her academic strengths are: Transfiguration because she likes the idea of turning things into animals; History of Magic because she manages to keep up with the reading and flying lessons because her father is a chaser and taught her the tricks of the trade. She does rather well in wand-work.
Weaknesses (At least three, including Personality and Academic): Darrell’s main weakness is her temper. For though she may not worry about things, it doesn’t take much to make her mad. She can be very talkative if engaged in conversation to the point in which it can be annoying. She hasn’t got that long of an attention span and can be distracted by more interesting things. This normally results in her breaking a few rules. Darrell is also more than a little strange. Her academic weaknesses are; Potions because of all the concentration one has to put in for them; Astronomy again for the same reasons and Herbology because she would rather make a mess than take care of some plants. Darrell is very bad at subjects in which she finds boring and therefore her concentration lacks more than usual.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: I feel that Darrell is a Ravenclaw. I feel she radiates individuality and she is book smart. Though she does have some concentration issues, she does try hard to be dedicated to the things that she likes doing.
