General Build: average

Birthplace: Richmond, in Northern Yorkshire, England
Brief Childhood History: Glory has spent most of her life in a "nice" Muggle neighborhood, cafes, greenery, relatively safe. Much of her mother's family had strong spiritual beliefs(hence her name), and of course when "strange" things started happening, some of which couldn't be completely explained away, there were problems.
Thankfully, her well-to-do, "practical minded" parents sent her to school to "reign in" her magical abilities as soon as they were given the opportunity. Consequently, she sees only her parents at holidays, and even then it's brief. Most of her time home is spent with whatever new nanny they've chosen to keep an eye on their "troubled" daughter.
It doesn't matter to Glory; she hates her first name and goes by her middle name(which is River) instead. The nannies don't seem to stay on more than a few months, and she isn't sure why. Glory does nothing to them to discourage them or misbehave. Most of her childhood was like that, a new nanny every three months or so and rarely seeing the family.
She could go where she wanted in the large house, any room. She was even allow to choose some of her meals and have sweets now and then. All the sweets and toys in the world didn't make up for always being alone. She doesn't know where her parents are most of the time to this day.
Her grandparents, on her mother's side mostly, seemed to want nothing to do with her. That didn't bother Glory so much, since they were all stuck up and rude anyway. She didn't know anything about her father's family, she'd never seen them and no one wanted to talk about them.
As she grows older, she talks little. There usually aren't people around who have anything to say to her, and she has grown used to it. She has always been home schooled, and the idea of public school is curious to her; she has not ever interacted with children her age before.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Glory would likely excel at classes such as Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology because they're less to do with the practice of magic and more to do with caring for something alive that needs care. She's always wanted a pet, but her parents have told her she isn't old enough yet.
Despite growing up alone, she has a gentle nature and connecting with another living creature would be good for her. History of Magic would also probably be of interest to Glory, since she knows nothing about it.
As for her personality, she has a good heart and believes in doing what she believes to be right regardless of its popularity. If she believes something, or has any sort of fondness for someone, her conviction is unbreakable. Despite not being shown much affection or love, Glory does care for others; even if in her quiet, awkward way.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Glory would like refuse to participate in Flying class outright. She firmly believes it's impossible. Transfiguration and Charms would likely be very hard for her as well, since she still doesn't quite believe she's magical at all. If she were to take Muggle Studies, she'd probably correct or try to explain about Muggle things, interrupting the teacher for "being wrong".
She does stand with whatever she believes, but that does make her incredibly stubborn and hard to convince otherwise. Since she's had little social interaction, especially with children of her age, she's going to be brusque and blunt. She may say things that are unintentionally hurtful because she has no idea what tact is; no one has ever shown her that sort of kindness.
If someone tries to get close to her, she's just as likely to push them away, perhaps permanently, than to accept them. It's literally all she knows of social interaction.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Hufflepuff. Loyal, dependable, hardworking...kind of their motto, and I think it might fit. Maybe Ravenclaw? I dunno, s'pose that's what a sorting hat is for.
