Brief Childhood History: Aiden is not a single child, no, he is a part of a pair; A twin. His sister is younger than by only a few seconds, yet she is the dominant force is all matters. As a child Aiden was rather sick compared to his younger, generally smaller sister, and seemed to survive the birthing process through what could possibly be a combination of pure luck and, dare one say it, magic. as the children grew their seperate personalities flourished rather wildly; Ailya became a bold, fiery little girl with a personality matching her hair, a real Jeanne D'Arc type of girl. Aiden, however, grew in his sisters shadow; Or..well, as her shadow, being as he was always remarkably tall for a child of his age whilst Ailya was remarkably shorter than average, making the two a rather disfunctional yet still grand pair just the same.
As the two grew up in a small, rather upper-middle-lower-middle-lower-class, as their parents preferred to call it, background the twins, Aiden in particular, were generally picked on by the other children with more affluent children; Ailya for being what they called a 'Leprechaun' and Aiden was generally the 'Ginger Giant', and oh how perfect a nickname one could give a child. As the two grew up, Aiden became extremely overprotective of his younger sister, partly because of her small size and partly because he, as a male himself, realise just how grubby boys were; He knew just were their dirty little hands had been, all in mud and dirt and such-- Okay, so maybe that wasn't the reason, still, he was incredibly protective of Ailya to the point where he would stand outside the school bathrooms when she used the restrooms and outside of her gym classes when she was performing such activities; The reason he generally gave was a rather simple one ' If anyone even looks at my sister funny, I'll punch them'. And that he did..a lot.
Certain oddities happened as Aiden grew to the age or ten. When dangerous things happened he had a way of just making sure nothing hurt his sister. Once, when the children were walking to school they made the foolish decision to walk under a rather decrepid bridge. The bridge was falling apart even as they entered, and partway through a large slab of concrete and brick fell down from the bridge and towards the two. Aiden closed his eyes and pushed his hands up towards the slab, hoping to stop it from ultimately smooshing him against the ground like a tiny little bug; But instead, the block just sort of..crashed to the ground on either side of the cowering duo in two large pieces, a shock at best and a shock so hefty that Aiden thought he was about to have a coronary just from the sight of it; He went on to have palpitations all day!
At the age of eleven, just like Ailya, Aiden received a letter from a mysterious scottish school known simply as 'Hogwarts'. They were told in this letter that they were 'special' and that they were invited to intent the school for the rest of the school year. Obviously, being from a school that still taught that God was almighty and even so make as shaking it one too many times meant you were going to hell, corporal punishment was wrife and a spanking was the least of a young'ins worries, a new school was far more than just a welcome change. Still, the school itself was far more grand than either Aiden or Ailya could ever possibly imagine.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): To make up for the fact he is very intelligent Aiden has many large flaws. He is greatly burdened when it comes to making split-second decisions, and if he is asked to do so he is most likely clam up and have a panic attack. He is also not at all bold or a natural leader, and usually allows his sister to do any and all conversations unless it is absolutely necessary that he has to speak. He is an extremely anxious person and is prone to severe nose bleeds when he is startled. Because he is incredibly easy to startle and has issues with the inner-ear disorder tinnitus, Aiden isn't a particularly skilled duelist, in duels he generally uses his knowledge and mind to try and outwit and outgrace his opponents instead of just use the biggest, stronger spell; It's not to say he couldn't become a good duelist, but for now he works better with his sister for reinforcement.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Aiden is a fairly odd student to place in a single house because he has both the flaws and strengths of each house in equal measure. He is cunning like the Slytherin, but is nowhere near a cruel or mean person to be placed here. He is highly intelligent and wise beyond his years like the Ravenclaw, and can be courageous when he so wishes to be; Mostly when his sister is in danger; But is not bold, strong or a particularly a good leader. Because of this Hufflepuff would be the best house for Aiden. He is incredibly kind, helpful and sweet to everyone he meets and will go to the ends of the earth to help those he is near emotionally.
