Roxy Farris - Approved [H]
« on: 24 Sep 2011, 08:46 am »
First and Last Name: Roxy Farris

Bloodline: Half-blood
Hair Color: Copper
Eye Color: Green
General Build: Average
Height: Average

Birthplace: Pinner
Brief Childhood History:Roxy's father is a muggle who comes from a line of doctors lawyers and professors, her mother on the other hand, was a witch as were all here line up to her great great grandparents. Her parents were neighbors and friends for 6 months before falling in love with each other and got married soon after. Roxy's father, however, didn't know of her mother's heritage until one disastrous family reunion after Christmas.
Mrs. Farris had always taken extra care to insure her husband and his mother never found out about her heritage. Wild excuses were made to cover up 'strange behavior', or accidental Magic. Despite all her troubles though, Maria failed in her attempt. Her youngest sister had ruined everything, not only had she arrived by Floo Powder but she had played a magical prank on Grandmother Farris.
Mr. Farris was not pleased, his mother's disprovable of wizardry and witchcraft had been drilled into him since birth. with the news but loved his wife to much to part over something of the such. Grandmother Farris was even more displeased, her father was killed by a magical accident and every since Elizabeth Farris kindled her hatred every day.
Ever since Roxy was first born, her father refused to accept that there was anything different about his daughter. He wanted her to be 'normal'. Her mother, on the other and, took delight in everything that even hinted at her daughter being magical. Mr. Farris's disapproval of Roxy only made Roxy try harder to please him.
At the age of five, Roxy's father and mother had come to an agreement that Roxy would attend a private Muggle school for girls called 'Northwood College' just outside of Pinner in a small town called Northwood. It was a dull place and all the teachers seemed to sense something strange about her and purposefully (or so Roxy thought) made things hard for her. Before she started Year 6, Roxy received her Hogwarts letter. Her mother was ecstatic. For the weeks leading up to her first year it was all the two ever talked about. Her father never said anything about it.
Before Hogwarts, Roxy filled her time with Drama, sports and school. She took part in Stagecoach for w while, an extra curricular drama class which her school hosted. She also tried out for multiple sports teams. Generally she never made the team because of her lack of coordination but she would occasionally get put on the reserves list. Her father, being a teacher, made sure his daughter did very well in school. He help her in every way she could, hoping that, if she was 'normal', she might get into a good university and become a teacher or a doctor or even a lawyer. Due to her fathers help, Roxy got incredibly good grades and thus was allowed to take part in the College's T+ group for gifted and talented students.
Since her 1st year at Hogwarts, Roxy has never lost her enthusiasm about the place. Her father still tries to dissuade her from going every year but she has learned to put up with it.

Strengths: Roxy excels most at Charms class, she's always had a knack for charming objects and what with her hardworking attitude and extra studies, she's just kept improving. Roxy's also good with Care of Magical Creatures, so long as the creatures they deal with in the class aren't frightening. Her constant determination to make friends with the creatures and her love of animals helps her significantly.
Roxy is very friendly and playful. She enjoys making up games and invites anyone who's willing to join in to play. She especially likes to play with children younger than her as she relates easily with them.
Loyalty is another thing Roxy values highly, it is also something her parents value and have been drilling into her since a very young age. She will never betray a friend or someone who has put their trust in her.
Weaknesses: Though Roxy enjoys Defense Against the Dark Arts it is one of her worse subjects. She is deeply frightened by the dark creatures and magic. She has trouble focusing on the actual topic as she is often hiding behind her hands. Potions is another weak point for her. She can never seem to get the concoctions quite right and so they either fail terribly or explode in her face. She is also a horrific cook.
When frustrated, Roxy is know to pout and complain, loudly. Sometimes, when in a really bad mood she may throw something (generally something soft) and maybe even hit of kick something. To calm herself, she finds it best if she count by five.
Roxy is also sensitive. It doesn't take a whole lot to upset her. She doesn't stay upset for too long, as she is easily distracted.
Being so easily distracted also has its down sides, though. Her less practical subjects suffer because of this.
On top of this, Roxy is very loud and hyper, this tends to get on peoples nerves. There is rarely a moment out side of class in which Roxy is not talking.  Being so loud, she also tends to give things away on accident.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: I believe Roxy should be part of Hufflepuff because she is Loyal, Kind and Hardworking, all of which are Hufflepuff qualities.

Heya Roxy and welcome to HPRPG~!

However, before we can sort you, there are a few things that need editing. First, could you give us a bit more about Roxy in her childhood history? What sort of things did she do for fun and such?

As for her strengths and weaknesses, I have to ask that you don't ~list them. Give us some 'why's behind her strengths and weaknesses. Feel free to look at some other applications for a better idea of what we're looking for.

And lastly, nothing too big, but please remove the yellow coloring from the word 'Hufflepuff'. <3

Once you've made the above changes just change the title from 'pending' to 'edited' and we'll continue from there.
