Ada Malvis - Approved [H]
« on: 20 Aug 2011, 03:37 pm »
First and Last Name: Ada Malvis

Bloodline: Pure
Hair Color: Light brown
Eye Color: Green
General Build: Large
Height: Average

Birthplace: London
Brief Childhood History: Although Ada Malvis was born in London, her parents come from Galicia. They emigrated to London in search of better opportunities, and spent some years working for other people before opening their own shop specializing in their homeland's magic - Galician magical herbs, potions, objects, etc. This happened when Ada was 6, and since then she has been very keen on helping her parents with the shop. This has allowed her to explore both her own magical abilities and her heritage.
Although Ada has several uncles, aunts and cousins, she doesn't get to see them very often because they all live in Galicia - their parents typically try to visit their homeland once every summer, but this isn't always possible because they're quite busy with their shop. She doesn't have any siblings, so she has been a bit isolated from other children so far; on one hand, she's very keen on starting at Hogwarts and having lots of friends, but she's also aware that it will be hard for her to fit in, as she's used to interacting with adults.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Ada will probably be quite strong academically, as she has already gained plenty of practice at her parents' shop. Subjects she'll probably excel at include Charms, Potions, and History of Magic.
Being something of a foreigner in the UK, Ada is sensitive to cultural differences and, although she's a pure blood and is proud of it, she's tolerant of people from other backgrounds.
She's also quite musical and would like to get involved in musical activities at Hogwarts.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Care of Magical Creatures will probably be her worst subject, as she doesn't like animals much.
She's also not very good at sports and won't be interested in Quidditch. The reason for this is that, being overweight, she's not comfortable with her body.
As she's not used to interacting with other children, she'll probably feel awkward and shy during her first year and will be regarded by the other students as unfriendly.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Although she has characteristics from Ravenclaw and Slytherin as well, Ada would fit well in Hufflepuff as she's an inclusive person who accepts diversity. She's also hard-working, having learnt this virtue from her parents, who arrived in the UK as poor immigrants and after years of hard work managed to open their own business.
