Brief Childhood History: Having been raised in a magical family, Mariam was introduced to the wizarding world at a very young age. She was brought up in a small community of fellow witches and wizards, and due to such, made close bonds with very few muggles during her childhood. At age six, Mariam began to show signs of being a witch. When her parents made her sit at the table until she "finished all of her milk," her seemingly endless temper tantrum came to an abrupt end after the cup filled with juice.
Her parents both have jobs at the Ministry of Magic in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, where they met and soon became wed, bearing three children; Drew, Mariam, and Leila. Mariam grew up as the middle child and got along fairly well with her older brother, age sixteen, and her younger sister, age seven. Her father, Peter, spends much of his time in foreign countries studying magical creatures, while her mother, Cindy, works locally. Both parents are proud of their achievements and their status (upper-middle class), and both graduated from Hogwarts as prospering Ravenclaws.
The day her letter was delivered by a rusty Tawny Owl- which prodded at the window countless times- Mariam insisted her family leave for Diagon Alley immediately. Her parents, although equally excited, reassured her that there would still be enough wands and books left within the next few weeks.
Before Mariam received her letter to Hogwarts at age ten, she attended a private boarding school.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Mariam has an outstanding love for nature, and has a knack for understanding Herbology, Transfiguration, and magical creatures. She's witty and loves to make a joke at any given opportunity, and finds comfort in socializing. She feels that she can be successful with the material that Hogwarts has to offer her, and strives to do well.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Although Mariam has a good sense of humor, she often speaks before thinking. She's opinionated, prideful, stubborn, and loud, and is quick to argue with anyone- even a teacher. She struggles with Potions and Muggle Studies, and finds it hard to understand concepts of the Muggle world.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Ravenclaw. Mariam is crafty and ambitious, but not to the point of greed or lust (as are Slytherins). She values wit above all and finds satisfaction in knowledge.
