Brief Childhood History:
Harvey was brought up the youngest of seven in a large town house in the bustling Chelsea area of London. He was seven years younger than the next siblings above him. Because he had so many siblings there was always one around to play with or to seek advice from. Harvey could never imagine living not in the magically orientated world because that is all he has ever known. In fact he considers the muggle world to be like the magical one but several years behind.
James Branden, Harvey’s father, came from a poor background. But he married for money. Harvey’s mother, Maria Branden-Jones, was aware her husband loved her money and not her. But it was a sacrifice she was willing to make for the sake of a good pure-blood marriage. While James would use his new money to give his children everything and anything except his time and attention Maria was very different. She tried very hard to give her children attention when she was not busy at her ministry job. She told them they could tell her anything but then somehow work always seemed to call her away at any point they tried to take her up on it. When Harvey was ten, he was the only one left at home, Maria decided to quit her job to spend more time with her son. She told Harvey she was going to do it and he was thrilled. He was sure she would.
Harvey never forgave his mother when he found out she was not going to be home after all though he did not know his father was really the one to blame. Harvey stopped wanting anything to do with his parents and turned all his affection on his older siblings when they visited and more importantly the friends he had gained from the children his Father brought into the house to provide company for him. He did not know if any of them were real friends as they only really played with him because their parents told them too. Harvey enjoyed drawing, he loves to create images from scratch, and playing the few chords he has mastered on the guitar. He wants to become proficient at it if he ever practiced. He loved using his imagination to create whole worlds in the wardrobe or under the bed. Most of all he loved hearing stories about magic.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Harvey has an inbuilt desire to please people which he constantly tries to suppress. He rarely stops talking and can keep going for ages even if no-one is listening. Harvey is very curious by nature and constantly asks questions and demands to know things. He wants to be remembered, even if it is not for the right reasons, and he wants to prove to his parents that they missed out during his childhood. He has a cheeky, likable, attitude and tends to be able to make friends easily, even if it is life ambition to be better than anyone and everyone.
Harvey would be good at potions because it was the first subject he learned about as a child and ever since he has spent many good day dreams imagining brewing vastly complicated potions which would make amazing results and achieve him fame. Plus memorising instructions and exact measurements is easy for him. Harvey would also be good at theoretical subjects because he has an eidetic memory and therefore astronomy, history of magic ... subjects like that would come easily to him as memorising facts and instructions is simple in his mind.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Transfiguration, charms, defence against the dark arts ... any of the practical subjects which involve hands on learning Harvey begins to flounder and feel lost. He can tell you the wand movement exactly and what the result will be. Ask him to demonstrate and everything is guaranteed to go horribly wrong. Harvey does not like subjects he cannot do. So rather than try he will simply mess around, distract other students, and generally make a nuisance of himself. Eidetic memory aside he has a very short attention span. Personality wise Harvey's weaknesses stem from his feelings of abandonment. While he makes friends easily he finds it hard to keep them mainly because he can become very possessive of his friends and jealous if they want to hang out with other people instead of him. To a lesser extent it is because he has deep rooted trust issues which mean if a friend has to cancel or something similar he will automatically believe it is because they do not like him any more. Finally he can hold a grudge, if he feels he has been slighted or insulted, for record amounts of time.

What House You Feel You’re Character Belongs In and Why: I believe that Harvey belongs in the Slytherin house. He is very ambitious; it has been instilled into him to be so, and driven. He hides it well but he automatically bears a grudge against someone who can do better than him. Harvey seems to manage to get what he wants mostly because he neither plays fair or morally correctly. His desire to be the best takes over everything. Finally his Mother came from a long line of Slytherin’s.
