Brief Childhood History: Jamie Marsh was born and raised just outside of Canterbury, England. He is the eldest of two children, with a younger sister called Teryn who is two years younger who he is quite close with. Really his family is a rather normal middle class family. His father is partner in a small but well respected law firm and his mother a nurse. By all accounts Jamie's childhood has been a fairly happy one. He has the same group of friends since his earliest of school years and is generally well liked. His father was always similarly small and always said to Jamie "if you don't want to be small, then you have be big. Stand up for yourself and people will always see you bigger then this" a finger poking into the boys chest. And Jamie learned this lesson. For such a small, frail looking boy, Jamie has always been quite tough and not as easily picked on as expected by would be bullies. However, he is not stupid and understands his small size won't help him in a fist fight however he is quick and nimble. This has made for a quite bold child, climbing, jumping, swimming and playing sports. A few months after his 10th birthday, the family's relative normalcy was shaken up recently when Jamie received his letter of acceptance Hogwarts. Jamie initially was not as keen as some would be, somewhat fearful of leaving behind his friends, parents and Teryn, who was quite upset that her big brother leaving home to go to school. His father, who Jamie looks up to greatly, convinced him to go, saying "Jamie, it's important that you are true to yourself. You're a wizard. And so a Wizard you should be. Me and your mother and very proud and I am sure will be an excellent one."
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Jamie Marsh has often described as a "gutsy little guy". For a small boy he is quite courageous, sometimes to the point of stupidity, and is athletic to a point (there are times size does matter) He wants to prove he's tougher than his size. In social situations which he is comfortable in Jamie is quite chatty, social, energetic and has what one might call a simple charm. Jamie is quite bright but not especially bookish although he does have a healthy curiosity. His strongest subjects would be those which engage that curiosity, as in, 'what happens when?' such as Potions and Transfiguration.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Jamie is rather shy when meeting new people and often takes some time to get comfortable. This shyness can be even worse with adults he does not know. This can make him very nervous. His tendency to try to prove himself 'big' can sometimes get him in trouble and occasionally injured when he bites off more than he can chew. He can become somewhat bored and distracted when not engaged in what he is doing. Therefore reading and schoolwork that are slow and tedious can be challenging for him, such as History of Magic and Astronomy.
