Bonnie Gnome-Ringer - Approved [S]
« on: 28 Feb 2011, 08:25 pm »
First and Last Name: Bonnie Gnome-Ringer

Bloodline: Pure blood
Hair Color: Brunette
Eye Color: Blue
General Build: Average
Height: Average

Birthplace: Bromley, England
Brief Childhood History: Born to Cato and Roberta Gnome-Ringer, Bonnie Gnome-Ringer is the middle child of three children. Despite their deceiving surname, the Gnome-Ringers do not ring Gnomes nor do they have any inhabiting their large Estate in Bromley. (However they do own a House elf who assists Mrs. Gnome-Ringer with her household duties) Modestly settled on the list of the wealthiest Pureblood families, the Gnome-Ringers live a comfortable lifestyle. Inheriting a Legilimens ability from his great grandfather, Bonnie's father took up a position in the Ministry of Magic and worked hard for his credited position in the Wizengamot Administration Services that he holds today. Bonnie's mother, on the other hand, remains at the Estate to care for Bonnie, her older sister (Leah) and their younger brother, Avi. Bonnie keeps mostly to herself when she is not attending etiquette lessons on the Estate but her favourite childhood past time is spending time with her father. She has a taste for strange knick knacks, particularly the Detectors that Mr. Gnome-Ringer occasionally brings home from work. (Her favourite magical object so far being a Sneakoscope that she recieved as a gift on her 11th birthday.)  As the Gnome-Ringers' Estate is not located near Muggle territory, Bonnie has not had a lot of proper exposure to her counterpart peers and seems indifferent to said race.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Due to her parent's insistence of learning her roots, Bonnie is particularly well endowed in History of Magic, Herbology (because of the vast garden in the Gnome-Ringer's Estate), Potions and Charms. She is polite in mannerism and has a knack for noticing subtle things that others tend to overlook. Though Bonnie was taught that "young girls do not interrupt and speak only when spoken to", she can also be quite straightforward and quick to speak what's on her mind if she feels very passionate about a certain subject. Though it is too soon in her age to know for sure if Bonnie has inherited Legilimens from her father, she has shown signs of being able to sense when someone is lying or being deceitful.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Bonnie is especially afraid of heights so Flying is not her stong suit. She also seems to struggle with Astronomy, Arithmancy and anything related to Muggle studies (as she has little to no experience in the Muggle realm). Pride is Bonnie's fatal flaw and though she is well mannered, she is quick to turn into a Snarky little Pureblood if she feels that her morals have been offended. Another downside to her blunt nature is that she may wound a few people in the process of the words without realising. This could be due to the fact that she is often wary of people when she first meets them, unsure if she will come across that nagging sensation in her gut that tells her that something is simply not right.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Slytherin would be the best for Bonnie Gnome-Ringer. Old fashioned when it came down to parenting, Mr. and Mrs. Gnome-Ringer embedded into her mind that although there is nothing wrong with the existence of Muggles, to always remember that Purebloods will always hold a higher standing. Bonnie is a big analyzer, especially with strangers and goes by the slogan "Guilty until proven innocent." She can also be condescending, choosing to play along with a certain false plot despite the fact that she knows the truth underlying it.

Heya Bonnie and welcome to HPRPG!

However, before we can sort you, there are just a ~few small things that need added/noting. First, you're fine (since you didn't state that Bonnie has the ability of Legilimency), but I feel it's important to note that you'll have to apply for that as a ~*special ability*~ and be approved for it once you're sorted if you wish for Bonnie to go in that direction. <3 Additionally, can you give us a bit more history on Bonnie herself; perhaps what she did for fun as a child, did she attend muggle schooling, and such?

And lastly, can you give us a few more personality strengths? Her personality strengths seem, from what I gather, to mirror (in some manner) her personality weaknesses, after all. Everyone has more than two, of course. ^^ Also, just a small thing, can you name a core class that she'll be weak in? (As Muggle Studies and Arithmancy are both third year+ classes and she has a ways off before she knows how she'll fare in them.)

Once you've made the changes just swap the title from 'pending' to 'edited' and we'll continue your sorting from there! :biglove:

Being perceptive about deceit would be more appropriate to go in her 'Strengths' rather than in her Childhood History. You do not have to make it 'special ability' if Bonnie is not a Legilimens yet, which as Tany mentioned is a special ability that has to be applied for and approved after sorting. As a side note, make sure that you allow for Bonnie to make mistakes, follow our godmodding rules, and ask for permission if ever you're unsure if Bonnie should be quite so perceptive of other characters.

Once you've made the edits, change the title from 'pending' to 'edited' and someone will be along to look at it ASAP!  :biglove:

Haha, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Ministry will allow my character to develop into a Legilimens over the course of the years. You don't have to worry. Realism is key!
