Brief Childhood History: Maddie's parents were simply two lost souls, nomads if you will. They spent their days wandering the world with no plan and nothing to hold them down. They were content with their lives and never ever thought they would find someone to settle down with. That was until Maddie's father came back to his home country of Wales and his mother's next stop in her journey just happened to be in the same place. It was, what you may call, love at first sight. Their fiery spirits clashed and suddenly, exploring the world didn't seem so important anymore. Within the year they welcomed their daughter Eliana and it took a few more years after that for them truly realize they were ready to settle down and marry. A year after they married, Maddie was born (April 10). And they were happy. It was as simple as that.

For the most part, it became Eliana who took care of Maddie. Both of their parents had to work to make ends meet and so often, the kids were home by themselves. Growing up, Maddie was actually a quiet child. He kept to himself mostly and only interacted with his sister and parents. He grew up to be self-sufficient and by the time he was in school, while other children were crying over juice stains on their shirts, Maddie could get the stain out himself in the bathroom. When he was eight, the family moved to London. His parents had been laid off and they were hoping to find new jobs in a bigger city with more opportunities, but of course these were reasons left unknown to young Maddie. Luckily, his father quickly found a stable occupation, which allowed his mother to finally stay at home with the children. With the sudden arrival of his mother who coddled him constantly and babied him to make up for the years she couldn't, Maddie's demeanor quickly began to change. He found himself able to act more child-like and well, just more like the other kids his age.

A year later, on a night when the roads were slippery and covered with thick fog, Maddie and Eliana diligently waited for their parents to arrive, but they never did. Their parents were gone and with no grandparents alive and no aunts and uncles, the two were immediately placed into the foster care system. The two siblings were split up, but Eliana always made sure that Maddie could get in contact with her and during the next year, Eliana worked hard to find some relative that would take them in. She knew that her grandparents had siblings, which surely meant there were cousins somewhere in the world. Maddie on the other hand, slapped a smile on his face and dealt with the cards he was given. And it wasn't as if the family he was with were bad. They were quite nice actually. It obviously wasn't anything like having his own parents, but Maddie made do. And for awhile, the people around him questioned how a boy, who had just lost both his parents, could still act so happy and carefree. What they didn't know was that Maddie just found it difficult to deal with sad things and simply made up for it by being happier than necessary.

Around Maddie's tenth birthday, Eliana finally got what she wanted. She found a relative. A man, who was the second cousin of her mother. He was a writer that resided in Italy and after constant letters, emails, and phone calls, she finally persuaded the man to at least come meet them. Angelo Nesci had never lived his life with a single responsibility. He never called his family, never had been in a relationship, and had never, not once, turned in a draft of his book on time to the editors. So he wasn't sure why he had agreed to come meet these distant relative of his. Perhaps it was the curiosity or the fact that he was in his forties and had yet to accomplish anything in his life that was work-related. Whatever the case was, after a week of visiting with Maddie and Eliana, he found himself moving to the UK to be the guardian of these two strange children.

The three moved to Pembrokeshire, Wales. A few months later a strange man appeared on their doorstep to explain to them that Maddie was a wizard. Eliana had promptly shut the door in his face and it was only the third time around did they finally invite him into the house. Eliana was skeptical, Maddie was ecstatic, while Angelo found it all rather overwhelming and yet hilarious at the same time.

Strengths: Maddie is very outgoing. Actually, even that would be an understatement. The boy just feels at ease talking to complete strangers and spouting out the most random things and not stopping. He's incredibly friendly, often to the point where it gets annoying, and Maddie knows it, but he just sort of thinks it's funny. He also pays absolutely no attention to what others may think of him and doesn't care that he's a boy who has a love for Disney princesses and sings loudly in a high falsetto when he feels like it. Maddie's also always willing to try new things, which is really why he had no hesitation in jumping right into the world of magic. For his studies, Maddie does rather well in subjects where he can use his hands, like Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures.

Weaknesses: Maddie is very much a coward, not necessarily in physical ways, but in more of an emotional sense. He constantly runs away from anything sad or depressing and does his best to avoid things like confrontation that can ensue feelings of anger. Therefore, it is also unfortunate that when he does happen to come across these emotions himself, his bottles it up fiercely. He'll never tell anyone if he's feeling sad or angry or even hurt. Maddie also finds it hard to concentrate on one thing at a time. His mind and mouth are constantly switching from one topic to another and most times, he just doesn't know how to shut up. School-wise, Maddie struggles with subjects like History of Magic, Astronomy, and Potions.

What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Hufflepuff. While Maddie is fiercely loyal, he's more or less one of those "took the rest" cases. He's not brave, nor cunning, and definitely not of wit and learning.
