Brief Childhood History:
Born to a Pure Blood father and a Muggle Born mother, Thorik grew up surrounded by magic. Leading a healthy and happy childhood, his only real complaint was that his parents gave him such a ridiculous name. He grew up as a very bright and intelligent boy.
Thorik attended a muggle school until his 11th birthday. He got along well with the other students, and was liked by many of the teachers. He did well in all of his classes, but particularly in science. His parents took this to be a sign that he will be a gifted potion maker.
He was the second to last child in his family to go to Hogwarts. Thorik has an older brother, Steven, who is currently in his 3rd year in Ravenclaw house, an older sister, Hannah, who is in her 2nd year, and also in Ravenclaw and a younger brother, John, who is two years younger than him. His father holds an average office job at the Ministry, and his mother, seeing as she has 4 kids, is a stay at home mom, although this may change, as most of her children are now at Hogwarts.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Thorik is a very witty, intelligent and bright boy, who always stands by his friends. Despite his somewhat cynical outlook on life, he is a very funny and quick witted boy. Thorik is very ambitious and strives to succeed academically and socially, but not to the point of changing his personality. He generally gets along well with other children, and is respectful to most adults. Due to his aptitude for science, it is possible that he will do particularly well in Potions class. Thorik is one of those people who just knows a lot of things. He doesn't know everything about everything, and he doesn't know things that he shouldn't know at his age, but once he learns something, he doesn't forget it.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
His quick tongue has been known to land him in trouble on occasion. He can be easily overwhelmed by large amounts of school work, although he still performs to the best of his ability. Despite performing well, Thorik is borderline ADD and can be easily distracted, thus he really needs to try to focus on his school work. Because of this, his grades may suffer at times in classes that involve a lot of memorization, such as a history of magic. As stated above, Thorik has a slightly cynical outlook on life. Not because of any tragic event that happened to him, but just from observing the selfishness and stupidity of society, muggle and wizard alike. He can come across as a bit of a know-it-all.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Ravenclaw. He is a very smart person, and his siblings and parents have all been in Ravenclaw as well. He does have the ambition of a Slytherin, although he isn't elitist or prejudiced enough to fit in in Slytherin.
